2012 has arrived and it seems we have plenty of free EQs to choose!
This is getting better and better every year.
Which one is your favourite?

Post

My vote was for J1000 PQ33 as it's the only one on that list that I know of that has been updated during this calendar year. There are a few other on the list that I use regularly but your title reads "2012".

I'm certain that 2012 will bring many more innovative and exciting free plugs.

Post

My favourite is SplineEQ, which has a 4 bands free version :)
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Post

where's Electri-Q posihfopit edition?

anyway, my vote goes to BootEQ mkII by Variety Of Sound (who has announced a new leveling amplifier plugin today btw).

i've posted an audio comparison of several free EQ plugins a while ago, you can check that out here:

i have to vote for SonEQ, although it's been replaced by DDMF in my uses. it sounds pretty nice and has a nice GUI.

Post

Ahh shit. I voted for SonEQ! I totally forgot BaxterEQ! I use it on every project :)
The next one who wants to vote for SonEQ has to vote for BaxterEQ :hihi:

Cheers

I voted for the Oceanturtle one... because I think it's the best "all-purpose" from the list. (It may have few buggy twitches atm... nothing serious though)

Some other very good ones would be:

VOS Baxter EQ
Sonimus SonEQ
Audiocation AQ
Voxengo Marvel GEQ

Hi friends, this is my first post here.

When I saw (another forum) someone talking about this thread, I couldn't resist.
I tried almost all these eq plugins (except 4 or 5), and my vote is to the Soneq.Because the hi shelf is the best I know, and the mids and lows are very useable for mix and clean enough for a transparent mastering. I also like a lot the VOS bootEQ (excellent for "colour") and NastyVCS (great saturation and smooth compression). It's incredible to see all these nice eqs for free. PQ 33 is another great one, Sir Elliot eqs, etc, etc ....! Congratulations for everybody ;-)

Cheers

I like this one and also tried the ElectriQ version, but had problems with both with reaper , and ended buying the DDMF IIEQ pro and LP10 for surgical eq.
