Yes, for me personally (I am mainly a guitar-player) it is indeed the best sounding one. with all the other I was usually tweaking them a lot, trying to find a setting that sounds good and often ended up removing it altogether - and while it's a little early for conclusions, I don't think that will happen with this one. Either way it sounds really fantastic to me on almost any setting. And comparing it to the others there's a night and day difference to me. One phaser I loved using back in the day was Annti's Phase 90 emulation. Actually I think I should try that one again as it has been years since I last used it.

Thanks

my demo of the Softube jobby expired before i could torture test it. Is it that good? I've heard the CPU tax is a bit heavy!?

That might well make the difference. I use solely soft synths, so, the requirements for a phaser might be pretty different.

Not that i think the Eventide sounds bad. It sounds really good. Even though there's something going on on the "top" of the phasing, which is not quite as pleasant as on other phasers. Almost like digital artefacts. YMMV, on guitar material.

That's why i really would love to have a (real) depth parameter, it would be easy to avoid the "top", and have the sweet spot, so to say.
Plugins and a DAW. On a operating system. Which runs on a computer.

So what are some creative uses for a Phaser besides a guitar...asking for a friend.

Drums, Rhodes, Clavinet (my second favourite use, not surprisingly), String Synthesizers, Basses.... etc. etc.
Jens, I am now never going to listen to you again :) Your enthusiasm caused me, rather forced me :) (yeah thats my story) to try it again and yep bought it.

*hehe* not sorry - I might have saved you money because I helped making sure you get it during the intro-price period. After all you need it anyway! :-D

I think you may refer to the emulated analog aging artefacts - did you try setting age to zero?

About the lack of a depth control in the Eventide - it does at least have a manual frequency control which is nice to automate, and you can stick to your desired range. In Remote mode it should do the same with MIDI CC1 (I haven't tried this yet). It's quite rare that this control is provided in phasers. Anyway the new version sounds superb, a nice surprise even for Anthology X owners. I'm really hoping they update all the old clockworks plugins.

edit - the remote mode works nicely with LFOtool MIDI out :tu:

Tried the Eventide-- it's very limited by it's faithfulness to the limited features of the original hardware version. I'll be sticking with Stunning Phaser!!
