saturated market

sounds great
can't warrant any more CPU hogs though
who would have thought modelling a rectangular plate would be so taxing on the CPU
every good plate verb seems to be this way

Sparkverb is so efficient compared to this

Seems to be one of the first products I've seen that makes me think Fabfilter needs to up their game...

And it's definitely WAY nicer than Pro-R.

At first Plate appears to be yet another plate reverb. On further explorations, it's quite something else. It pretty much breaks away from the crowded reverb space. It also makes the sound of a plate of metal reverberating more realistic than any other reverbs I've tried. Most plate reverbs are manipulated to not sound like a plate vibrating, but with Plate that sound is possible too - and it's such a nice modulating sound! :phones:

Fantastic plug-in, very versatile, pristine sounding (or the contrary if you abuse it correctly). Here are two demos I made during the Beta-phase using two of the presets I made for it (Guitar Dreamer/Drone Abyss):

https://soundcloud.com/sampleconstruct/ ... -uvi-plate

How would you say this comparison to soundtoys little plate?
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S49MK2, Studio One, BWS, Live 12. PUSH 3 SA, Osmose, Summit, Pro 3, Prophet8, Syntakt, Digitone, Drumlogue, OP1-F, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Nord Drum3P, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I'm getting crackles when modulating most parameters - have you found that?

Well, physical modelling is not really made for real-time automation.

Little plate is nice but UVI Plate plays in a different/higher league.

I thought that was the point of it (eg https://audiomodeling.com/) - in this case though the model is probably too complex and I was asking too much of it

It certainly looks very flexible and I will demo at some point (it will probably find its way in to Falcon which I use a lot).

As was said, it’s a very competitive marketplace, little plate was free (and no doubt a big brother is on the way and Toys is my go to fx rack), Valhalla plate is very good and 50 bucks, we also got a nice plate in the SP2016 update from eventide UVI do make great fx but I think a lot of people may feel they have plate covered....if you didn’t, this looks to be one of the best....

Gorgeous sound, stunning tweakability, insane CPU use. Only able to use the lowest quality mode in real time on my ancient dual core machine... and it STILL sounds incredible.

yes this is very nice - I am playing with Klevgrand r0verb going into Plate and using r0verb to sit the signal in space a little before Plate lushens it up - works very well :)

Lol ... yes ... I have the same but I may still end up getting this; the interface is simply stunning and the opportunities for tweaking just too tempting. GAS.

This is a really modern, nice to use UI. Very good design.

by quick comparison, would this plate emulation give some automation possibilities that UVi plates don't ?

…UVI plate seems really stunning, too bad that this small company can't compete, me thinks
