Soundspot get's alot of heat on these forums but they have some of my favorite GUI's on the market, and although Glitch was one of the worse plugins I ever tried, they're Firefly compressor is one of my absolute favorite compressors. Always excited to see new developers release new plugins, which is why I frequent these forums

The full version will be a quid on PB within 6 months.

Soundspot do get a lot of crap on these forums mainly because they make fairly average plugins with nice GUIs, stick an insane price on them then run 90%+ discounts. Sounds all too familiar in a bad way. If they weren't so actively promoted by PB all the time no-one would even mention them.

Now I've no idea about Firefly, I'm sure it's a competent compressor but that's hardly an untapped market. Most DAWs come with decent stock compressors these days too.

Yes Compressors are a dime a dozen, I use mainly Reaper which comes with more then enough if you include the JS Effects. What I love about Firefly is ability to make transients pop and give the sound an overall heavy polished tape vibe. It got 2 punch options which are obviously transient shapers but it also seems to give the sound depth. I have over 10 transient shapers and a gazillion compressors and I A-B them all tryna to get a similar sound and I couldn't.

And also I feel like plugins sometimes with too nice of a gui get backlash, but imo SoundSpots last couple of plugins especially Axis have nailed the modern plugin look.

I really want Axis or MWS2 to go on sale again they're mid side capabilities are honestly insane how easy they make it. I haven't saw another plugin make it that easy to manipulate the stereo field on a multi band level.

Well the Ravage Lite is more of a saturation unite where Noiize Filter, which I use and is super underrated, is well a Filter, and Krush would be more compared to the full version of Ravage when it drops.
I'm actually a big fan of limited plugins with one or a couple knobs because I like tweaking too much and get lost in sound design when writing music.
Vortifex wrote: Sat Nov 10, 2018 5:59 pm Tried it, not very good IMO. Noiize Filter and Tritik's Krush are much better free options.

I wish I'd bought their multiband compressor during its introductory pricing though, hoping it'll be on sale at some point.

Thanks for the heads-up, Soundporn. :tu:

Free is not a bad price for their plugins, but it would be more fair if they paid us to use them😜

:hihi: Ouch, harsh.

Tried it but it´s nothing special, type of saturation/overdrive plugin. The sound gets flat and lifeless real quick. I think the soundspot stuff is not bad but this one is nothing for me. Lets see what the "big one" can do... :?:

Amazon: why not use an alternative

Honest question. Is there another plugin that enables you to control gain and pan of the mid side left and right on a multi band level as easily or at all like Axis does? Or another plugin that allows you to modulate the mid side like MWS2?

LOL yeah I didn't word that well. I don't like using the word analog but all the other words sound cliche too like warm, organic, vintage...

What I meant is it sounds heavy without sounding muddy.

So that sounds like a Type IV TDK in my mind. You know the glory days when if you wanted a song on repeat you just taped it on the b side the moment it got done playing on the a side.
