What is your go to de-esser for this type of problem?
I'm demoing Softube Weiss Deess and oeksound spiff, since they both mention this specific issue in their manuals. Any other candidates?

I love Pro-DS, but I haven't gotten great results with “ch” and “sh” resonance issues. I will demo Eiosis. Thanks!cryophonik wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 5:21 pm Fabfilter Pro-DS and Eiosis E2 are my go-tos for exactly those problems.

I really like the visual approach E2 offers. One thing I’ve found is that the worst offenders are often best handled with a combination of surgical gain automation and de-esser.jackson881 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 5:27 pmI love Pro-DS, but I haven't gotten great results with “ch” and “sh” resonance issues. I usually have to resort to gain automation as well. I've been dreaming of a de-esser that can help me cut out that step. I'm looking forward to trying out E2 over the weekend.cryophonik wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 7:08 pm

I haven't found a de-esser that takes care of, satisfyingly, the harshest sounds listed. I don't about other DAWS, but I've found that in Logic, using selection-based processing is the sure-way of taming those. I use a combination of e.q. and gain reducer. It's a bit cumbersome for us spoiled people, but in five minutes, it's taken care of in the course of a 4-minute song..
