Hi, is there an easy way to strip markers from an audio file?
The not so easy way is to open the file in an audio editor, delete the markers and save the file.
I am thinking of an application like 'stripper' that removes metadata from an imagefile by drag and drop.
Or maybe someone knows the command line to do this or has a batch file for it.
Thanks in advance, Slug

Dirty but free method with creation of a Audacity macro (batch) export as WAVs.
Instruction:
1. Open menu: Audacity > Tools > Macros...
2. Hit New (Button) on the left side
3. Name: Metadata Removal
4. Hit Insert (Button) on the right side
5. Add 01 and 02 commands:
01 Metadata Removal (Macro_MetadataRemoval)
02 Export as WAV
03 -End-
-------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT!
- Before you wipe your 1st batch close that macro window
- Drag and drop 1 audio WAV file you want to wipe clean of metadata
- Go to menu: File > Export > Export Audio...
- Set: WAV and corresponding format (Bit depth etc.) and hit Cancel (don't Save, Cancel should be enough
- Remove the track/file from Audacity
----------------------------------------------------------
Now every time (if you have the same type (WAV) and format (bit depth etc.) you want to clean):
1. Start Audacity
2. Go to menu: Tools > Macros...
3. Select: Metadata Removal (on the left side)
4. Hit Files... (button)
5. Select all your WAVs you want to clean from header info
6. Hit Open (button)

I just open the Markers & Regions box in RX7, there's a "select all" checkbox, then Delete. In Acoustica there is the Label List, you have to delete them individually by ticking each one.

This would be intuitive to add in for products like switch that convert audio files. Would be ideal, though it seems useless to worry about, who knows I guess.

Not 100% certain but pretty sure last time I tried this, Audacity dithers the file when resaving - even if you're only removing the metadata - technically making it a lossy procedure. I use RX.
You need to get into the metadata in a non-invasive way.

Hmm, that's too bad, I like when dithering is an option

In FlexiMusic Audio Editor, you can directly draw the waveform lines. You Zoom in and draw with 'Draw (with mouse)' command under 'Generate' tab.
