Tracks saturation

Hi guys i've got question - all these vst tape or tube saturators gives harmonics and vitality of the tracks they are applied, but i wonder can they be used on every track or just on master bus or there is another tricks cuz when i try it the result is oversaturation and harshness of the final mix - what i miss about right usage...

Allowed is, what sounds best.

If you want to kinda emulate analog gear: Put saturation on every track with slightly different settings.
Don't over-do it. Stay subtle.
