The DAW can be installed without the Artist series instruments. Cakewalk by BandLab is a bundle of the Platinum core DAW features, with the Artist instruments.Woodgardens wrote:About 700MB. Without instruments.Scrubbing Monkeys wrote:how big is the download?
The list of instruments in Artist is given here. https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/Versions
You may, or may not, need them. Depends on what you already have installed.

They have not migrated any accounts yet. The old 'My Products' link at https://www.cakewalk.com/My-Account is still active, with all of your downloads. The Command Center still functions as it always did.aMUSEd wrote:Are the Cakewalk plugins in people's Bandlab accounts yet?
But the products in the legacy site are frozen in time, with no updates ever.
Meng has stated that they will be deciding in the near future on what plugins to re-issue, but no further announcements have been made in that regard.

Thanks all for replies...
Sry for the confusion, but i never used Sonar. I use Protools Ultimate, Logic Pro X and Samplitude Pro X 3...
I searched the web and the results showed me, that Sonar supported Eucon... I read the manual of Eucon and found out, that to activate Eucon in Sonar, a driver is needed.I thought ok... Maybe CbB included Eucon in the actual release, but it wasn´t the case.
But the driver should work with CbB, cause it is Sonar in its Core...
The X64 Driver for Eucon is still avaiable on the Cakewalk site, but to download it, you have to login to the cakewalk Account.
But this isn´t possible, cause Bandlab disabled the Account Creation for Cakewalk and the forum....
So no chance to download the Eucon Driver for me, cause i cannot create an Account....
The next problem with CbB ist the VSTScan... Its a pain and produces so much errors... Especially with EW Play 6, McDsp and Sonnox...
It needed so many restarts to get the scan to work again...
I gave up on CbB and hope Bandlab will make the downloads for Eucon available again... Without Account your are lost...
greetings

As far as I can tell, Session Drummer 3 is not included in Cakewalk by Bandland. Neither is Roland Groove Synth, Cakewalk Sound Center, SFZ Player, or DropZone. So the content is reflective of Cakewalk Home Studio, not Sonar Artist.zzz00m wrote:The DAW can be installed without the Artist series instruments. If those instruments are missing, then it sounds more like the Sonar Home Studio instrument bundle.Russell Grand wrote:As far as I can tell, Session Drummer 3 is not included in Cakewalk by Bandland. Sorry, I was just going by what I had read on the big announcement thread over at Cakewalk. I do not have a 'clean' system to compare the CbB bundle with, as I already have the legacy Platinum instrument bundle installed.
Found this post by a user that documents the included plugins for a clean install with screen grabs:

HOWEVER, I think the Home Studio version does not have all the features of the Platinum version, or am I mistaken?zzz00m wrote:If those instruments are missing, then it sounds more like the Sonar Home Studio instrument bundle.Russell Grand wrote:As far as I can tell, Session Drummer 3 is not included in Cakewalk by Bandland. You get the Platinum core DAW program features, fully functional, but with the Home Studio bundled instruments and plugins, instead of the full bundled premium Cakewalk and 3rd party content.fmr wrote: HOWEVER, I think the Home Studio version does not have all the features of the Platinum version, or am I mistaken?
The Home Studio DAW program was a bit cut down, for example no ProChannel, no aux tracks, no synth rack, etc., but you get all of that in CbB.

So, it's NOT Cakewalk Home Studio. I think that should be clarified. It is the high end product, but without extras (or with a very limited number of extras).zzz00m wrote:You get the Platinum core DAW program features, fully functional, but with the Home Studio bundled instruments and plugins, instead of the full bundled premium Cakewalk and 3rd party content.fmr wrote: HOWEVER, I think the Home Studio version does not have all the features of the Platinum version, or am I mistaken?

I think that is exactly the point! The DAW features should be considered separately from its add-on content, as many already have a collection of instruments and plugins, and don't care for the extra bundleware. I think that is what they meant by a streamlined release.fmr wrote:So, it's NOT Cakewalk Home Studio. I think that should be clarified. There will probably be instruments and plugins released as crossgrades and upgrades in the future, but I hear the plan is to continue upgrading and releasing the DAW for free.

It does not appear that a EUCON driver was ever offered for download from Cakewalk's own website.Kevinside wrote:The X64 Driver for Eucon is still avaiable on the Cakewalk site, but to download it, you have to login to the cakewalk Account.

However, it may still be available to download from the Avid web site if you have registered for a "My Artist Series" account that entitles you to download the driver there: http://euphonix.avid.com/main.php
EDIT: If you just want to install the EUCON Control Surface to see if it works in "Cakewalk by Bandlab", you can download it from here or here.

I may have to check this out when I get home. I don't want to learn another DAW, when there's already so much in Reaper and Renoise left to learn, but it could be a good option for creating groove templates if I can export audio files as MIDI with timing and velocity data.

Here is how to extract MIDI timing from audio:Straight2Vinyl wrote:I may have to check this out when I get home. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation? ... ap.15.htmlExtracting MIDI timing information from audio allows you to:
. Double an audio rhythm with a MIDI instrument.
. Replace sounds in an audio clip (commonly used for drum replacement).
. Notate the rhythm of an audio clip.
. Align lyrics with an audio rhythm.
After you extract the timing information from an audio clip, the timing information is copied to the Clipboard as MIDI note events. You can paste the MIDI notes to a new MIDI track or use the Clipboard as a source for the Groove Quantize command.
