Have you try to connect the virtual midi port into the Logic environment ? It should works if I remember correctly ( I didn't use logic since logic 9 )
Thank you @Whywhy:
Which virtual midi port connection?
Do you mean, new devices and connections in the midi environment window?

I have add
1 monitor,
1 sequencer imput
and try with 2 transformers (for the try of two instruments in the template)
but I can't understand where and how to connect everything to these. Each instruments? each sum? each sub? each instrument articulation? each channel split?
So many possibilities... :dog:

There are a lot of elements in the Hexachords template, which renders the moves, modifications, and access difficult in the midi environment.

I should put a capture of the environment... It is the mess
Here is the capture of the Midi environment of the template provided by Hexachords for Logic Pro:

if someone can kindly help me. Thanks in advance.

@Botox1:
I'm a Logic X user.
Did you download and install the Orb Composer MIDI app for Mac already?
If yes, and this MIDI app is in your programs folder then double click and make it run this way.
In Logic (Environment) you locate the object 'Physical Input'.
Can you see the virtual MIDI ports 'orb0, orb1, orb2, etc.'?
If yes, quit and restart Logic with the original template again while Orb Composer MIDI app still running.

Thank you @Etienne1973,
For your answer:
- Yes Orb Composer is installed with a valid license. And it's working very well as standalone or on Studio One 4 Pro (I want to work with Logic because for the work for films it is a better choice).
- Yes, I can see the physical input.
- The restart is done... The template is open as a project (not as a model).

Dear @Etienne1973,
The recorded midi end up like one main track as the major midi clip and the other channels has an aliased copy of that same midi track. So midi data by channel is splited among the tracks.
This option is activated in the settings – "Auto Demix by channel"

Thank in advance for the answer and the help!

MIDI region 'Chords' grey means muted.
So no sound and that's your problem, right?
If yes, click on that region, make it green with key command 'm' and hit play again.

Thank you @Etienne1973
Hexachords ask to keep it muted (It used to be there to listen everything, all the tracks).

- Did you pay attention on the Aliased tracks?
- Everything is always recorded on the selected track (record on)... The other ones (even if record on) just recieve an aliased track.

I will try to unmute it, and comeback to update my answer...

General question:
Do you have the instrument VSTs loaded in Orb Composer?
If yes, load software instrument AUs in Logic.
OC template suggests to generate audio there.

Post

All the instruments are in Logic with Kontakt.
The midi sync in ON in Orb Composer.
All the Orb Composer plugins are Off.
I can hear all the samples during the recording or in playing the session.
The mess is on the recording of the entire piece.
The Sample seems to be OK as the basic routing Orb & Channels (I can receive the midi signal when I record one track by one track).

By the way sorry for my English speaking.. I am French. :hihi:

Here some captures of the same section with different recording settings.

If I select several tracks... The track instrument selected is recording everything (as the preview chords tracks) and I just get one track recorded on the others...? Or tracks with Aliases? Or nothing ... :dog:

Important: Record (arm) only the track 'Chords'. Keep the MIDI region muted.
It has to work that way if the OC template for Logic is setup correctly right out of the box.

I don't have Orb Composer but I'm a constant Logic user for many years.
Now I'm gonna try to install OC demo here on my computer. Also have NI Kontakt.

You hear from me a little later.

Thank you so much @Etienne1973
You re a great help !! :tu:

UPDATE!
(A bright and soft light in the tunnel :) )

With your recommandations:
1- Track "Chords" Armed "On"
2- All Busses "Muted"
3- Each single instruments (the ones in Bus) needed are Armed "On"

Everything is working with all the instruments dispached in a Bus
I didn't try yet to mute or arm the single ones which are not going in a bus.
Will try later... If it is working...

I was so glad to get this first result!

UPDATE!
- Everything is working, in keeping the same recording settings,
but the single instruments (the ones not going on a bus) are armed "On" for recording (no mute on them).

Last problem:
All the regions get the same name ("Chords"), even in changing it.
The tracks seems to be linked :!:

Did you install your own OC demo?

Thank you again.

here the capture

Now, all the melodies and harmonies in this tune were created with Orb Composer 1.4:

Yes. :)
I think I've found a better workflow without the Orb/Logic project template.
Load instruments in Orb Composer. Your film/video in Logic as normal.
Logic (master) synchronizes Orb Composer (slave).
What do you think?

The problem in using the instruments in Orb Composer is that Orb Composer is not supporting huge projects as the complete Orchestral with the load of all the samples and instruments articulations. Even with my 64Gb of RAM Mac Pro. OC is crashing all the time in loading a complete project saved.

It is why I stopped to use Orb Composer as standalone.

But it is still OK if you have few instruments or some light sound samples library.
But mine are quite heavy (spitfire symphonic strings, etc).

Hi Botox1 :)

Back to the first method:
Hexachords wrote:Don’t forget to press the record button for each track of the DAW, it’s usually needed to receive the Midi.
I guess it means to arm only tracks you actually have in the Orb Composer project.
