Pardon my ignorance; this seems like such a basic question, but my research got me nowhere.I play keyboards for a professional ballet company, and I'm looking to upgrade my setup. Playing live on a MIDI keyboard, I'd like to generate convincing sounds imitating these instruments:
piano, celeste, harpsichord
harp, organ, choir aah
(possibly more)
1) What's the best way to do this using a Linux laptop or Android phone/tablet?
2) Pianoteq (https://www.pianoteq.com/) looks promising but lacks organ and choir sounds, and doesn't deal well with "split keyboard", or multiple presets for fast switching during performance. Is there a similar program that can do all these things (on Linux)?
I tried out some high-end keyboards (Nord (http://www.nordkeyboards.com/), Roland RD-2000 (https://www.roland.com/global/products/rd-2000/), Kawai MP11 (http://www.kawaimp.com/mp11/), etc.), but nothing met *all* my needs. The closest I got was with the Kawai MP11 (great for piano & celeste), additionally using that as a MIDI controller for Pianoteq on my Linux laptop (great for harpsichord & harp). For organ, I found a Linux program called GrandOrgue (https://sourceforge.net/projects/ourorgan/) which may be overkill but will work. I could go that route, but I still don't know how I would emulate choir sounds or anything else that might come up in modern pieces that we do from time to time.
Thanks
