Hi all
The title pretty much says it all
My DAW is Cubase and i can only have 4 stereo audio outs
Can anyone confirm it ?

Post

That's correct.

Post

I could see many uses where having more than 4 would be very nice to have...

Post

Well in fact you can raise the number of MUX VST inputs and outputs yourself: https://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mux/preferences.html

Attention: Saving a host project with N ins/outs, then lowering N and reloading that project is an unsupported case.

Post

That is good to know, thanks :)

Post

Sorry but it's a bit confusing...

I added the following lines in MainSetup.txt
MuxSynthNumStereoOutputs=8
MuxEffectNumStereoOutputs=8

Now I can have 8 audio outs in Cubase
however, there is no sound on audio out 5th-8th...

Post

Did you restart Cubase?

Post

Of coz I did
anyway, after removing and reloading all MUX instances
everything works like a charm :)
Thanks for making such a great VSTi

Hi all. I have searched for MainSetup.txt but the only file with that name(inside C:\VSTPlugIns\MUX (64 bit)\User\Settings) says nothing about inputs and outputs, just ApplicationRunCount=69
GsFrqPhsRct=19,27,64,87
Am I way off? Thanks---

Here's what I've tried, which doesn't work:

ApplicationRunCount=75
GsFrqPhsRct=19,27,64,87
MuxSynthNumStereoInputs=8
MuxSynthNumStereoOutputs=8
MuxEffectNumStereoInputs=8
MuxEffectNumStereoOutputs=8

Am I not supposed to have each value on its own line, or joined together, or something else entirely? Thank you-

Post

Code: Select all

MuxSynthNumStereoInputs=16
MuxEffectNumStereoInputs=16
MuxSynthNumStereoOutputs=16
MuxEffectNumStereoOutputs=16
I can get something vaguely happing in Reaper but no sound... No idea how to fix Reaper, though.

In MuLab, it looks right, though:

Looks good.
Note to only edit that setup file when the host DAW is not launched.
The after saving the edit launch the host DAW and plugin MUXes, that should work.
No?

Post

Nope. I even tried changing all outputs to 16, but nothing.

Try completely deleting MUX from your system (except for your user files of course) and certainly also from your host DAW's plugin cache, then reinstall MUX and try again, before launching your host DAW again.
