Curious about these bugs.
The most important fix was a multi-threading bug that could cause unexpected behavior and crashes eg when tweaking MUX parameters in Ableton Live, but it could also happen in other cases.

MUX Plugin 8.2.15 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mux/beta/
  • Fixed a possible crash problem in MUX 8 for Mac.
  • VST Plugin Manager: When adding new plugs or deleting plugs, the current list view is better preserved.
  • MUX VST -> Edit MUX Front Panel -> Color Picker could too easily get hidden behind host window. Fixed.
  • Fixed a small memory leak when choosing a new VST plugin for a rack or modular area.
  • MUX VST now properly reports its version to the plugin host.
How to update:
Windows: Replace the current MUX DLL and ID files by the new versions. (4 files in total)
MacOS: Replace the MUX .VST file by the new version (assumes you already have installed the complete MUX 8 zip)

M8.2.16 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mux/beta/
  • MUX VST: In some special cases it could be that the preferences had redundant copies of the same value list, eg GUI Scale listed the available scale values multiple times. Fixed.
  • MUX VST: Removed the audio recorder and event recorder modules until MUX VST has a mecanism to start/stop recording. That's on the wishlist.
  • MUX Front panels: When selecting another Oscillator Layer preset from a front panel, that Oscillator Layer button changed position. Fixed.
  • Finetuned the filler background color for VST plug editors that are smaller than the minimum VST editor size.
How to update:
Windows: Replace the current MUX DLL and ID files by the new versions. (4 files in total)
MacOS: Replace the MUX .VST file by the new version (assumes you already have installed the complete MUX 8 zip package)

About the audio and event recorders mecanism: Do you plan it for the official MUX8 release or for a future update?

For a future update.

M8.2.17 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mux/beta/
  • Audio sequence -> Sample event -> Split at nearest marker was not always working correct. Fixed.
  • Sample players: When swithing sample while it's being played, this could result in silently pending voices. Fixed.
  • A couple more small improvements.
How to update:
Windows: Replace the current MUX DLL and ID files by the new versions. (4 files in total)
MacOS: Replace the MUX .VST file by the new version (assumes you already have installed the complete MUX 8.2.14 zip)

M8.2.18 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mux/beta/

This update fixes a specific compatibility issue wrt certain MUX front panels made before M8.2.

How to update:
Windows: Replace the current MUX DLL and ID files by the new versions. (4 files in total)
MacOS: Replace the MUX .VST file by the new version (assumes you already have installed the complete MUX 8 zip)

M8.2.19 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mux/beta/
  • Added a workaround for VST plugins that call audioMasterAutomate or audioMasterUpdateDisplay from another thread than the main GUI thread.
(doing that is invalid VST behavior, imho, but it turns out several important VSTs do it so hence this workaround)
  • MUX VST for Mac didn't work in Audacity for Mac, the editor stayed blank. In fact it's a little bug in Audacity, but by simply adding a code line that Audacity needs, it works now.

Had the Audacity bug been reported, do you know?

Post

I don't know whether it has been reported. Thing is that Audacity for Mac 64 bit still needs the VST plugin to use the reaper extension "hasCockosViewAsConfig" so to report it uses the NSView system for its editor. That's not necessary as on 64 bit that's always the case, afaik. If a 64 bit VST plugin does not respond to that non-standard VST extension, Audacity does not open an editor and leaves a blank window. That's a bug, imho.

Post

Audacity's VST handling has been shaky for me at best on Windows, even. Sadly, the code's impenetrable or I'd have had a shot at investigating.

MUX DISPLAY ISSUE:

- Open Mux patch on front panel > CTRL+Click Show Modular Area > in Modular Area window, click Show Front Panel
In mulab this works great, but Mux in another DAW displays an empty window aswell as the front panel.
(note that the opened Front Panel does not contain the DAW's top control bar)

- Open Mux patch > Click Show Modular Area > CTRL+Click Show Front Panel > on Front Panel click Show Modular Area.
Again this diplays an empty window aswell as the modular area.

A Couple of other things from muxing around for a few session:

BROWSER (opens from the Options Menu)
This is quite handy. Perhaps double-clicking an item from the list ought to load it in the mux. Drag and drop works.
Preview and Auto-Play not working at all.

MUX PATCH FILE SELECTOR drop down list: Shows Devices, Factory Presets and User Presets.
Would it be possible to add additional User selected location, e.g. like favourites in the browser?

COLOR PICKER (From the Options Menu or Right-Click context menu):
- does not have many places can drag and drop to - have to open component edit dialog box to change colours of component.
Would be nice if (say in Front Panel Edit mode) you could drag a colour to the component itself, this would be more intuitive.

GENERAL (Not specific to Mux v8)
Envelopes when applied to mux modules eg Amplifier work great, but when applied to vst parameters the fastest attack is very slow.
