Hey guys,

I did investigate a bit on possibilities to run VST3 plugins in MuLab.
So I did find a solution which works for me pretty well and is on top OpenSource:

FWIW, I have used the BlueCat Patchwork chainer in MuLab for years.

It loads VST3 and AU in Mac and does a lot more, but at a higher price.

A bit cheaper than PatchWork (which I have and use) is Metaplugin from DDMF and both can host waves plugins as well.

Trying to run some VST3 in Mulab, so I bought the Wusik X42 plug-in. It was less that $3. However, upon downloading the file, Windows pops up a message that "Win_Wusik_X42" was blocked because it could harm your device. Is this file safe or have I been scammed?

It's safe. You probably just need to unblock it. I've used Wusik software for years, don't worry ;)

Another vote to push native VST3 capability up the feature request list.

I use Blue Cat Patchwork in Mu with no problems. I've had problems with Kushview Elements.

Post

Hello, testing out Elements and working great.

Can anyone please tell if this would add any form of latency or added CPU to this plugin slot due to the conversion?

Thanks

Mulab 9.3 can load Vst3 plugions correctly, but what about preset loading/saving saving resp. total recall of all song settings? Steinberg writes one has to use the preset browser but where is it in Mulab? Sorry if I had something overlooked.

Post

Preset browsing is usually down to the vst developer, not the daw developer. But I would like to see it enhanced in MuLab.

I would like to load and convert VST3 presets, which save themselves over in Appdata somewhere, into .fxp, so that I can save them within the Mulab folder. Which I have done, but they dont "scroll" through. I have to load them one at a time. It would be more funner, to be able to scroll/one click through them, if you've got a lot of them. A little "previous/next" button.

I understand, hence my request for enhancing preset management here.

Truth is though, preset management is a plugin issue, not MuLab. That said, if enough people request it be improved within MuLab, maybe Jo will decide it important enough to warrant the time to develop it further.
