Comping is a process where you use the best parts of multiple takes and piece them together to make one ‘perfect take’. Being the imperfect beings that we are, capturing a ‘perfect take’ in one go is not always possible. Audio engineers remedy this by recording multiple takes, compiling the best parts to make a single performance. Although comping is done on any instrument, it is a technique mostly used when editing vocals. Vocal comping is a vital part of commercial music production as it’s the most central aspect of most popular songs.

MuLab is not specialized in audio comping, but it's doable: You can make several sub-tracks for an audio track and put recordings there, then use the part mutes to select the best parts.

Is there a way to combine the best parts from a few takes to create one "good" take?

Using Project menu -> Render Parts As New Audio Part.

Tip: When you hold the mouse over the menu item, more info is shown in a tool tip.
