Should filters be adding so much CPU usage?

I'm noticing that when using Synthmaster One, enabling a single filter adds like 3-5% CPU, and modulating it with an envelope adds another 4-5%. Meaning, a simple 4-voiced supersaw with a quick filter envelope uses around 10% CPU for me. Which is much more than any other synth I compared it to (Massive, Spire, Surge)

Opening many of BT's (Brian's) presets, any given one of them uses around 45% of my CPU. Just with that one instance of Synthmaster One, nothing else.

Does anyone else have this much CPU usage from SMOne? I'm on Mac, 10.11.6

Yes, Draft quality and Large buffer

Hi,

Is that for a single voice? I don't think so because the release on Brian's presets are high. So you might be quickly running at 12/16 polyphony.

Try to reduce the polyphony of the preset to 8. Does that help?

Reducing the voices reduces cpu usage, and so does disabling the filters. But my question is, is anyone else experiencing such high cpu usage on some of BT's presets? Or even just by doing an init preset with filter modulation and 4 voice unison?

Strangely, SM2.9 does not have this problem for me. A filter will add some cpu, maybe 2%, and modulations don't make it jump up like crazy.
