I just joined recently so hopefully this will still make sense: I was wondering if could be a good / feasible idea to have one or two sticky threads with links to resources for beginners / intermediate users (about music theory).
I guess it could serve in a way also as a FAQ section... anyway, I was thinking of somewhere were to share useful stuff found online with the most interesting one summarised in the first post, by category.
E.g.
these are a bit random but I'm not trying to figure out the real thing, I'd just like to hear what you think first.- Where to start
- Harmony and Melody
- Genre specific
- Online tools
- Books
Also, since I found a couple of links, I'll post them here in case you find them useful and as a possible example:
Where to start
A Guide To Song Forms – AABA Song Form
Harmony and Melody
Michael New - YouTube channel
Genre specific
A Guide to Producing an Epic Orchestral Track
Online tools
http://songle.jp/ (example)songle.jp wrote:visualization of elements such as structural segments, hierarchical beat structure, melody line, and chords
...I guess however it would be tricky to categorise some links as they might fall into multiple ones (e.g. http://mentalfloss.com/article/77321/br ... ls-tritone )
