on their website they state that they have to close down because the illegal musicstore deal finally broke their neck by destroying their distribution network.
I really feel pity for the poor lads who bought the hardware or the plug at full price.

RU with me?

Translated with Babel Fish so its a bit hit and miss :

Many the messages of the past weeks with tension have an Synthesizer interesting - partial in addition, with frightening pursues. The time for explanations came now. Hard man leaves since beginning all products with to electronics a Dienstleister in Moenchengladbach, which manufacture company Schlafhorst Electronics. This company a larger money from supplies is owed, about whose feedback by 27 September with good chances of success one negotiated. In the meantime our Dienstleister sells InterNet however without our knowledge and - first of all - without any authentication neuron VS from its stocks to under-cost prices at the Musicstore/Cologne, as well as to a net curtain (wolf net curtain). The result from these panic sales is the complete collapse the hard man selling structure. Distributoren and dealers, which had bought still few days before neuron VS at regular prices, are applied and do not understand not, how only one music business in Germany over 450 can sell neuron VS far under its purchase price at final customers. The sales basis for the product is by this procedure destroyed - our selling partners require payment of damages - our customers, the neuron VS at regular prices bought, is furious. Besides Music net curtain customer vehement require tidy user for a support, which we will not offer naturally before the given background, since no contractual relations exists. In order to be able to proceed against this situation life-threatening for the hard man, we sold our complete neuron VS stock (50 devices) to the same conditions to the music shop Thomann. Hans Thomann, the sleep refuge Electronics already weeks ago - and likewise behind our back the same offer as Musicstore had submitted, deflected this. Very fair. With the existing means we obtain a provisional Vefuegung against sleep refuge Electronics. Before a warning already took place at the Musicstore, wolf net curtain, as well as to the sleep refuge Electronics as direct reaction. This should not be an exclusive debt assignment to the address sleep refuge Electronics, because all, which are occupied with neuron, know that the software like also the hardware are quite improvement worthy. Causally at the present market problems the hard man Music is however unfortunately the action described above. Finally one can compare the hard man with a small, exclusive car manufacturer. Our product addresses itself to a relatively limited, however clientele most fastidious but. The financial means, which are to be obtained with a general-compatible mass production product, are missing to us. The funds to program or publish over updates are limited. Surely this fact is likewise responsible for the fact that the economic situation was never really dazzling the hard man. Our project needed from the outset the generous support of Synthesizer enthusiasts as for example Hans's room, who invested very much money from enthusiasm for the idea and surely also from personal sympathy, into the company Hartmann. Others gave less, however with untiring employment ensured that we placed a product to developers with a hand fully on the legs, which provided internationally for sensation. And - as we think - by right. Because even with the well-known inadequacies, are the neuron Synthesizer very independent, inspiring and well sounding music instruments. It is sad that we will probably not have more by the events of the past weeks the chance to transfer the technology into a stage of development which continues to approximate still the original vision. But one never knows, what brings the future. And we will fight for the fortbestand the neurons idea - for us - and for all, which commitet themselves with the purchase of our exclusive Synthesizer.

I feel sorry for the people who bought it full price also.
One could feel that something bad was going to happen here though.

Yes, thats sad. Its also bad for smaller developers - after events like this customer confidence in these devs will be lowered.

Hard to say, Hartmann was a bit unique in its market position. Possibly bad for small manufacturers more, but then, they've never really had it easy in the market.

For me, it makes me a bit wary of these kinds of music gear shops. The situation really looked like they were trying to strong-arm Hartmann into reducing the price, presumably to get rid of unsold stock.

I pretty much figure they owed their distributor and to salvage their losses the distributor sold all their stash of neurons to this particular store , I see these allegations from hartman as pathetic excuses to blame others for their ill fortune.
