It is late and I have not the time to read all posts here, but can I come with a question, I was wondering about if of those of us who bought CSR, am I the only one that thinks the demo sounded awesome, and that the full reverb does not with the same preset. What happened

or enhanced, eh would that not be same as offering you a Porche, and getting a Skoda, for the price of a Porche, that Can't be legal, are you serious about this.

FWIW, I own Princeton Stereo Room which I don't think sounds realistic at all, but I don't mind because it really compliments certain instruments/arrangements/pieces so I use it. Hell, I'll still use Glaceverb for some things because it has its own character which I think is musical and compliments certain things. Same with CSR. I may pick up AAR to add to the "arsenal".
Digital reverb is an effect. Who listens to a chorus plugin/rack unit and says "Oh, that sounds nothing like the sound of a choir when I apply it to vocals so I won't use it"? And who runs five different chorus effects on a 6 string guitar and posts a competition to see which chorus makes the guitar sound most convincingly like a 12 string?
The question is, does the reverb, or any other effect, create some kind of depth, richness, or point of interest that was lacking in the sound before, thus increasing the beauty of the track?
With CSR, in many cases with my material, the answer is yes (IMHO, of course). That's not to say run out and buy it if you have reverbs you already like. But it does what it does well. But you have to judge for yourself if what it does really will make your music sound "better". If you've always liked Lexicons and you want a similar sound in a VST, go for it, otherwise maybe not.
One question I have for brok landers is this: you have nice TC and Lexicon gear. Can you reproduce what the AAR does on those rack units? In the case of the Lexicons, can they match or outdo the AAR while the CSR falls short?

Probably owing to the material they used it on for the demo. I'm sure they were plenty choosey and selected examples that fully complimented the reverb. I find it reacts strongly to what you put through it.drinelli wrote:It is late and I have not the time to read all posts here, but can I come with a question, I was wondering about if of those of us who bought CSR, am I the only one that thinks the demo sounded awesome, and that the full reverb does not with the same preset. You are running it on the original dry samples? Probably psychological, then.drinelli wrote:Psychological.well it sounds muddi now on same audio, but I sometimes have crap ears.

it did, now it don't, nothing but the reverb changed, I had an album that when putting a sertain amount of wet CSR (no jokes Please) It was like it was mastered by pros, now it Sounds very ordinary, Are my ears really deceiving me.The question is, does the reverb, or any other effect, create some kind of depth, richness, or point of interest that was lacking in the sound before, thus increasing the beauty of the track?

The audio was the same, which is my own selfmade album, It was put through several plugins before this, but it was exactly the same settings, with the demo, and with the full software.

That happens a lot after you buy something. Your ears are deceiving you, but it's probably really your pyschological perception. Man, this happens all the time and is the typical follow-up to GAS (gear acquisition syndrome). You wouldn't want to know how many instruments I bought because, while playing them in the store, I was literally convinced that "if I just had this...[$1000 Taylor acoustic guitar or whatever]"...my studio setup would be PERFECT! Then, six months later, the Taylor sits in the case because I just feel like it sounds a lot colder and more surgical than when I played it in the store (true story, one of many).drinelli wrote:The audio was the same, which is my own selfmade album, It was put through several plugins before this, but it was exactly the same settings, with the demo, and with the full software.
To address you fears, though, the demo is no different than the box version. They wouldn't put a pro sounding demo on the website, then send out a new version that sounds like mud in the box. It's the same program.

I would usually agree with you, but this is a very big difference I am talking about. There was no update there, but I wrote an email for them, lets see what they say, I am still hoping I made some mistake under the installation process, and that it is that that is the cause for this problem, I was really getting the wow effect, when using the demo

not at all, not vice not versa ... it's all different ... the tc stuff sounds very analytic to me, thats why i mostly chose my aar over it when i'm not after creating certain real spaces (for postpro or such). i cannot speak for the csr, as i don't have a dongle to test it.Frippertronix wrote:One question I have for brok landers is this: you have nice TC and Lexicon gear. but what i've heard is nice, but simply did not convince me, let's say it like this ...
with the lexicon 224 it's a very odd thing:
it allways either does the job perfectly or it fails completely ... it has its own character, to me even more than the artsacoustic reverb ... maybe thats because these great lexicon d/a converters ...
however, i stopped a long time ago abusing gear for recreating, instead i tried to use it for what it can provide ...
but to summ it up:
i never had a unit that shines equally on all approaches ... the aar is the first where i can say that.
there are specialists for each approach who can do it a bit better, but when it comes to "one does it all" there is nothing like the artsacoustic reverb ... it simply never nerves me, whatever i use it for ... then again, it'all a matter of taste ...
and on top of that, i allways look for the next step that tops the first ...
there's allways room for even better ...
guys, i cannot believ i'm still awake ...
GOTTA get some serious sleep now ...
and keep posting reverb examples using my wav ...
still very interrested ...!!!

I seriously doubt IK would create special better-sounding code in the demo, and then remove it for the full version - there's no incentive for them to do so.drinelli wrote:I would usually agree with you, but this is a very big difference I am talking about.
