Yes. It's wonderful.sinkmusic wrote:That is what i did too.tomg wrote:I also have one 85Gb folder "c:\samples" with 1000s of /sub/sub directories where I put everything including SFZ and SF2. I created two shortcut folders to the same "c:\samples" location. One in database/patches and one in database/samples and then use both (sample and patch) refresh options. SFZ and SF2 are listed in the browser as patches. Waves are listed as samples.sinkmusic wrote: I don't know, i have to check :
I have made only one shortcut to my "samples" folder, which contains all my samples and kits.
When i opened SC2, it was seeing all the kits automatically.
I have hundreds of subfolders, making shortcuts for each ones would take hours, i hope i don't need that because it would be close to a showstopper for me, and make me stick to SC1.
Thanks for taking time trying to understand what i am doing wrong, i appreciate a lot
Does it work, for you ?

Since I already had a shortcut to c:/samples in database/patches, I created another dir c:/samples/SC2Patches/ to save sc2 patches in.jens wrote:Part -> save patch (top left corner)sinkmusic wrote:ANother question : Did anyone managed to save kits with SC2 ?

Anyone can explain what the slice keymapped mode would do, and how it does work?

Cancel what I said about subdirectories. It apparently does read the subdirectories, too.

MmH.
I confirm i do have a problem : a Battery kit which loads fine into SC1 won't load into SC2.
Sorry about making this thread a little bit a mess, but i am a bit confused and don't really understand what is going on...

Tried this and I still get the same problemstomg wrote:Caco wrote:if I load my SFZ in highlife then export a fresh version of the SFZ from highlife and load it shortcircuit then shortcircuit just plays back high pitched noise.
Page 3..
"I just discovered the easy way to zone SFZ samples.
o create a new group
o drag the sfz onto SC1
o select all samples
o right click and move to new group
o rename the new group"
I did some testing though and it plays back soundfonts fine and I downloaded a couple of SFZs and they play fine so it appears SC1 has problems playing back SFZs created with Chicken Systems Translator and Highlife. Has anybody else found this?
Also, is there any free software out there I can load my SFZs in and resave them as SFZs to see it that fixes the problem??
Has anybody else had problems setting up shortcuts to patches in SC2? Without any shortcuts set up SC2 loads fine. If I set up any shortcuts then I get an exception error when I load SC2.
I want to get at least one of them working properly for me

Battery kits seem to just load the zones but not the sounds for me in SC2. SC1 works fine.sinkmusic wrote:MmH.

The problem with SFZ files could be related to ogg files, which sfz supports, but SC2 apparently doesn't. If the sfz file was created using ogg files, SC2 will give you a series of messages saying it can't read each file. Or are you guys having another problem altogether with sfz files?
Yes, this thread is getting to be a little too focused on problems. But we're just now learning the program...

Yes, they load fine here (I have downloaded several Battery-programs just becasue SC2 supports them).
I'm googling right now but feel free to post some links if you have them..

First of all... There is nothing wrong with SC1 but I can't see any reason not to move on to SC2.Caco wrote: I did some testing though and it plays back soundfonts fine and I downloaded a couple of SFZs and they play fine so it appears SC1 has problems playing back SFZs created with Chicken Systems Translator and Highlife. Highlife SFZs work in SC1 and SC2 but sometimes (every time so far) the sample for C3 has the wrong root of C1. There is nothing wrong with the SFZ file AFAICT. It's easy to spot and fix then save as a patch. Also, is there any free software out there I can load my SFZs in and resave them as SFZs to see it that fixes the problem??
Yes I had problems understanding the way it works.Has anybody else had problems setting up shortcuts to patches in SC2? Without any shortcuts set up SC2 loads fine. If I set up any shortcuts then I get an exception error when I load SC2.

I just found that :
http://tchackpoum.free.fr/Samples.php
I am downloading.
Maybe the problem i am experiencing is because i have a non valid Battery format ????
(So if i can't load the kit linked above and that others can, i really do have a problem).
Maybe we should open a new thread with links to free abttery kits to avoid confusion in this thread ?

remember SC2 only load battery1 drumkits! battery2 kits aren't compatibles.
