What you have to do is set the pan for the sample at -100%. Then setup a mod matrix entry from auto000 to pan with 200% amount. 0-1 on auto000 will then correspond to -100% - 100% on pan.BennyG wrote:Still seems a little strange to me that you can't pan from left-to-right using a single automation lane. Can anyone else confirm this?
Shortcircuit now freeware.

Of course the alternative would be to take any sound wave and loop a fragment of it to gain the same effect.hcv242 wrote:here a 3 note chord takes about 10-11 % cpu ...if i raise the chord some octaves the cpu use will raise a bit too.tomg wrote:Here's a SC2 empty wave synth patch. If you want add more than the 2 oscillators..
Copy the empty wave to more layers.
Switch back to layer-A.
Click select all layers (on).
Reopen the filters to the same selection.
Jiggle all the controls to apply to all layers.
Click select all layers (off).
Now you can detune or fine tune the separate layers.

Dang, shortcircut, a multisample player, beatslicer, drum sampler, sample and loop mangler, now wavetable synthesizer!!
Woof, this is beautiful.

Why thank you swivel, that works perfectly!swivel wrote:What you have to do is set the pan for the sample at -100%. i haven't seen this mentioned yet:
Live 6 appears to cause SC2 to rescan it's database on Live's startup.
if the database is large (like mine
), this can cause Live to look like it's hanging during the VST scan)...
FYI.

I forget what the actual setting is, but modulating the "rate" parameter can make a sample play backwards.
Off the top of my head, first set sample forward loop, then try setting random +- to rate (linear) with a value of -200. or try setting up alternate or gate to rate (linear) with a value of -200

I have been playing with both sc1 and sc2 for some time now.
Sc2 doesn't have automation but you can use the controllers to achieve automation so thats great.
There is no morph EQ and no auto cross fade on cs2 but so far sc2 is very stable on my system. I'm still not sure witch version i am going to use because i like sc2 new filters and GUI but i miss the auto cross fade and the morph eq from sc1.
Does anyone had any stability problems with SC2 ?
Is there any other difference between the 2 version apart from :
no auto cross fade , no automation , no morph eq , different filters , missing LFO ?
thanks

Yes, the huge difference is that there is no slicer on SC2.sovietpop wrote:Does anyone had any stability problems with SC2 ?

What's the advantage of using SC2 given all that's missing then?

Personally, the only advantages are browser support, send FX, and pad view, which I can do withoutaMUSEd wrote:What's the advantage of using SC2 given all that's missing then?

Well.. that's not exactly true. Say you've got a controller with 8 faders CC20-27.sovietpop wrote:v2. no automation
Click Config
In the User Parameter area.
Set 1-8 to CC
1-20
2-21
3-22
4-23...8-27
Click Part and move your controller faders.
You'll see the Bottom Left Controls move.
Click in the emptry area above the control.
Label these to corrospond to your controller (s1-s8 here).
If you want the controller - to + instead of 0 to + click the little button.
Click in the mod matrix on the right and you'll see that.
C1- through C8 - has changed to C1-S1 through C1-S8.
Click Zones.
Click in a mod matrix source slot and select C1-S1.
Click in the destination slot and select what ever it is you want to automate.

v2 also has better effects, sample preview, Mod (By) matrix and something else I can't think of right now.sweet_trip wrote:Personally, the only advantages are browser support, send FX, and pad view, which I can do withoutaMUSEd wrote:What's the advantage of using SC2 given all that's missing then?

It seems that both energyXT and XT2 are saving all samples used by SC2 in project files. I got carried away by loading samples into SC2 and got a 530Mb XT2 project. This is not the case with SC1.
Is this happening with other hosts too?

I'm pretty I was playing around with a cut-up loop with SC2's autoslicer thing...

There is a huge difference in cpu usage !
I was playing with the ocs and sc1 was using about 30 % of my cpu compared to
sc2 10 %
2 ocs with one filter with only one sample for the entire range of the keyboard, poly 5 notes on a 1.8 ghz centrino.
