G'day mate,

http://simonwatson.com.au/kvr/claps.wav

I just rendered some claps from Ecliptic's album - they were recorded with a group of about 20 people, using 6 mics. Hope they're useful!

Bear in mind that the claps are completely dry.

Hey I recognize these claps. :)

Also, check out the clap VSTi I made (for smaller groups of people), it's in the instruments forum.

I was wondering the same thing!

Another thing I've tried is going to somewhere like Soundsnap.com and there are some clap samples there. Some are single, some not. Some have several single claps in a row with different tones. You can cut them up, overlay them onto each other and save the wave file. Just adjust the timing of each one and duplicate them as many times as you need.

So it's actually quite easy to do, just takes a few minutes.

But Watto, those claps sound great, thanks!

Brent

I could have spread them around the stereo field a bit more, now that I think about it - there were 3 pairs of matching mics, so I panned each pair hard left and right. Could do the room hard panned, second pair 75%, etc?

Those claps are nice Watto. Are there any limitations/conditions to using them? :o
