I have tried since yesterday and it seems impossible to download :x
In free download manager i get unknown network error.

I would have thought that NI was rich enough to do things properly but i guess i was wrong :tantrum:

Open the Kore player stand alone version and make sure that you have the same driver selected as your host before you load it as a VST. It's common practice with NI instruments to assign your audio/midi in/out preferences on first open.

So, basically, it can play some Massive, Absynth & R5 sounds without having the mentionned vsti ?
But you have to pay to get soundsets, that's it ?
Mmmh, 59euros for a soundset is not really cheap, considering how cut-down that "player" version is, or am i missing somesthing ?
(Downloading since 5 hours yet, and only at 86%)

Took a couple of tries, but I finally got hooked into the link last night. Download was fairly painless, and installation was similar to NI's payware.

Gotta give 'em props for a nice freebie. I'm pretty sure I already have most of this content in Komplete 5, but it's very nicely laid out and searchable.

Some really great pads and leads. Overall, I'd say very worth the hassle of the download and install.

So many plugins, so little time...

Has this been pulled?

I got my link yesterday morning, valid for 48 hours, but didn't try till late yesterday and the d/l speed was so slow I gave up thinking I'd get it this morning, now all I get is a message saying the link is old or invalid, and is proceeding to the general download page.

I'm not really bothered, just curious.
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

...does anyone know if the Koreplayer offers something new in regard to Komplete 5 and Kore 2 - some sounds from the new Korepacks perhaps?

(I have downloaded it in two hours Thursday night, but didn't install it as I thought it wouldn't offer anything new, so I deleted it. However, I think I can download it again in no time. The Kontakt update was also very quick yesterday. :D)

I find it a bit disappointing.
I thought the "few knobs" paradigm would be cool, but i see much more the limitations than the "less is more" advantages. I'd wish there had more knobs, and it makes me open Reaktor !
Those synth sounds are a calling to get tweaked, but not only with some conventionnal knobs... I guess it is for romplers freaks, preset fans, which is not really my case. For me, Reaktor is appealing because it makes you want create unusual stuff, unheard sounds, have the feeling to go "beyond the boundaries", and with this product, it makes the user stuck in some predefined directions (like "turn the cutoff"), even if some sounds are just very good.
The drumkits are a bit vanilla (a tr-808 ? oh, how original), MemoryDrum is at least twice better.

Setup is Windows XP Home / ADM 2600+ / 1 Gig RAM -> yet some patches freeze audio as stand alone as well as as VSTi in Cubase SX. Have to quit and restart all the time. But I might just as well quit and not restart.

Anyone else with similar probs or tech tips on this issue?

The Kore player's meant as a tease- as something to get you interested either in;

1) the full versions of the various instruments,
2) the full version of Kore, or
3) both

Besides crank up your latency- no, not really. I'm not sure what sounds they include in the player, but some of the factory sounds in the Kore 2 library can get a bit CPU intensive. What patches are you seeing this with?

Which is odd to me, since none of it seemed very enticing. I was surprised that none of the included sounds and effects were particularly interesting, considering that NI software is capable of making some interesting sounds.

I suspect its not freezing.. its just loading (sample?) content.. a lot of content.. very slowly.. which, since there is no 'now loading' message, appears as if the system is hung...

I have a much faster system with double the memory and it takes about 20-30s to load some of the patches because of this.. I suspect it could be double to triple the load times on slower systems..

have you tried letting it sit on one of these patches that seems to freeze your computer and giving it 10 or so minutes just to see if it actually will load?

Don't forget that there's more than one user page with assigned knobs on most of these Sounds! You'll only see 8 knobs and buttons per user page.

And yes, I have to acknowledge that the download speeds are absolute shit ATM. getting 20k/sec instead of the usual 3-400k/sec. NI must be getting seriously hammered right now.
