The Massive Expansion's the one I'd probably get, then. It's 200 new Massive patches; you even have a couple from TC and biomechanoid in there :)

Downloaded and waiting for registration support to sort out my problem with invalid serial (on a freeware, damn it! :x )
If you can't beat your computer at chess, try kick-boxing.

NI just sent out mails that it is now on a high-speed server.

I myself was lucky enough to get it downloaded on the first day, but all those who gave up could try again now..

How big were the emails they were trying to send? :P

What are you looking for? I've been liking both drum ones a lot, and the Massive Expansion has some cool things in it. Then, there's the big band stuff in Kontakt Sax and Brass, and some cool remapping of some older Absynth stuff, and... they're all good

ew, do you know to which standard the drum expansions are mapped? Such as GM or something else?

I was thinking this myself. But I was also wondering, do they have to be played within KORE Player or can the patches also be loaded into Massive if you own it?

I know you won't get the variations, etc. in Massive, but it would be nice if you could get 'em in the library.

I find it funny that they'd release something like this and then not have any example or demo downloads of the expansion sounds. Yeah, NI's always done pretty well with the presets, but how can you expect someone to shell out cash for something if they have no idea what the patches sound like? Are they expecting you to just base it on the presets the KORE player comes with?

Also, I kind of want it just as a Massive preset player. I thought Massive was way overpriced for it's sound, but I wouldn't mind a $60 preset only version. I assume there a way to delete the other sample files? I already own Kontakt so I wouldn't need them cluttering up my hard drive.

They can be used in Massive as well; it installs to the Massive factory sounds folder and not the dedicated libraries folder that the other ones install to.

I think the free acoustic drum kit is pretty OK. That makes the download worthwhile for me.

No one knows how the soundpack drum sets are mapped then?

I did not study the drum mapping in any formal way, but off the top of my head it seems like the B0-B2 range is GM-like. Above and below are a bunch of specialized stuff and some multiple hit stuff.

They're mapped in the same way that most Battery kits are. Whether or not that conforms to GM mapping or not I couldn't say...

Do you have to have all the instruments in Komplete and GuitarRig 3 for these kits to work? Or does the Massive just require Massive, the C3 B4 III, etc?

Thanks

:) Thanks....I couldn't find the mapping info in the pdf manuals on the NI site.
