That's difficult... trust me... :help:
I was afraid you'd say that..

i'm not sure if this is the correct place - but i'm just wondering whether there's any news on the filterscape updates? :)

many thanks!

I recently had some problems integrating some new filter code - which drove me nuts and made me do other things first (one has to sometimes take a break from a vicious area and look at it with fresh eyes a month later). Once that is solved I suppose I'll have more news on that shortly...

Is it possible to nail those modules? I wish they had an option to stay grouped. Like filters are only stick together with each other. So there's nothing can be added in between. Maybe an option like "selected on top" but "grouped".

Another (in the endess list of) suggestion.

I'd find it very useful to be able to link the preset increment and decrement buttons to MIDI cc messages (96 inc and 97 dec). Thanks, over and out.

I've had a *very* hard time getting MIDI Program Changes to work properly, mostly because I had to dramatically speed up the processing of a preset. Which meant that Zebra is now holding a database of optimized patches in memory. As long as memory is counted in "few gigabytes" I think we'll have to have a selection of presets browsable that way, not all of them.

I'll keep it in the back of my mind though... maybe I can come up with something that works while the editor is open...

Urs, do you think one day we could have a unison effect in the fx section?

I know you already have the ocs unisons, but I think they are not "real" unisons because a unison usually ends up after the filter.
Right now we can only have a unison effect before the filter, and to my eyes its the same as a viruses "hypersaw" feature, that is, it renders the unison effect into one ocs.

Now the virus also has a unison in the effect chain, with dual or twin, seting and also a stereo spread function.
I think with your genious mind you could easily make one. I think a feature like this would easily increase zebras sound palette :)
I know you didnt intend the Zebra to sound like a virus but Zerba is so versatile that it was inevitable ;)

Hey,

I had thought about "real" unison modes, but it's really not something I'd like to add. I had it in Zebra 1.x, and the audible difference is neglectible while the extra cpu hit is not. Take into account that Zebra's signal flow is already stereo so that you by definition already have a dual unison mode going between right and left channel. You can simulate a simple 2-voice unison 2-oscillator-filter section in each column of the Grid, hence you can create "true" 8 voice unison with full stereo spread just in one single Zebra voice.

Add to that, next revision has a oscillator mode called "Eleven" - it does what it says 8)

isn't this easily doable by just duplicating the Zebra plugin instance in your host?

Hmmm, but do you think that a unison cpu problem is still an issue today? I mean with the cpus we have now, I dont think it should be a problem.
Plus many synth have it already and I think it works fine. However what many synth DONT have is a fake unison and a real one combined just like the Virus TI. The only software I know of that does this is the free Synth1.
If Zerba would do this again like its previous version, I think it would be great.
Also since Zebra is modular, people that are afraid of the unison cpu problem are not force to use the unison module.

Pardon my ignorance, but is "real" unison detune actually a useful feature in a synth? I mean, excluding trance supersaw-sounds, of course...

Hi Urs GREAT new beta, genourus as allways.

A feature I would like to see added to the stack is midi channel definition. This would help me because I use multiple Z2s in Live racks as a supa flexible drum synth. But I'm restricted in that racks have a track midi filter only so individual midi control of the seperate Z2 instaces within the rack is a pita.To make this request even more complicated It would be good if midi channels could be grouped so that more than 128 cc can be appled to one instance.
Also did you come up with that "recipe" for arranging the order that Z2 presents its automation list to hosts as this would also help.

Overall I'm very happy with Z2 it is the only vsti I use and have produced lots of Zebra only material a testiment to it's flexibility depth and sound.

I was also wondering about that automation parameter re-arranging feature...
