The page is up, and it's much more exciting than the repackaged C&V set that was speculated by many here, everyone check it out!

Man look at all the snares and toms! I can't wait to try out all those pearls, pearl snares are my favorite! even both kicks treated as "two" different kicks, I'm going to need to get an external hard drive maybe, I've got N.Y2 coming in the post as it is!

According to Mattias (one of the ToonTrack devs), the library consists of around 90gb's of samples unpacked, install fits into 35gb's using TPC. Best news to me, is he says the samples are completly unprocessed this time, so it seems to really mirror the DFHS library.

I think BFD is going down.

Not unless TT integrates that ezplayer pro with SD a bit better. Get's on my nerves sometimes!

This looks like a sure winner, no doubt.
Maybe it's just me though  , but I wish there were some more non-thrash demos.
Got absolutely no use for that double kick drone in my music, but on the other hand the 1st Superior worked great for other styles, too, and the collection of drums in this new SDX looks amazing, especially as there are several 5 tom setups included.
Hopefully somebody (Scott ? others ?) will post a song or two in other styles.
Cheers,
susiwong

And then, shame there are no brushes ...

good god, the amount of kit pieces is insane!

The demos are excellent, but I don't/can't do all that heavy stuff. That kit must require x64 with like 32 GB or ram

I'm starting to think they are "anti-brush" :hihi:

However, it is a metal kit!

So will be their teeth in a while if they don't use brushes, shiny and golden.

Not necessarily. I can load big kits with 5 toms and quite a few cymbals (in 16bit) @ a few hundred MB. Cymbals are where you can save lots of RAM.

There are brushes (and Rods) in the Avatar library that shipped with S2. There are also brushes in quite a few EZXs. I don't think we're as 'anti-brush' as any other drum sample dev. I would say 'less than others'

I'll see if I can post up something soon. I'm currently in the middle of a full record project (can we call 'em records anymore?) So I'm burnt out ATM. Plus, I'm burnt out from testing 300,000 samples, tons of Combined Presets, and a crap load of new MIDI files for this library.

BTW, while we were working on this library, quite a few beta testers (including me) kept reminding the Toons that these sounds were much more versatile that the name 'Metal' inferred. It was this that allowed for the 'Foundry' to be added to the name. To me the 'Foundry' helps indicate a more of a metal lineage...from early metal (Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Kiss) up to todays bands. So, YES!! these sounds are much, much more versatile than most of the demos on the website indicate.

I can also say that the MIDI groove library is very nice. Yes, there is a lot of double bass/blast beat stuff but there is also a bunch of grooves done by Peter Fredlander in more of a hard rock/classic rock style.
