Previously, the Sonic Reality's servers have been used and I think that that will remain the approach. You get a notification of the general traffic level on your eSoundz Account Downloads page. In the past, I've got > 600,000 KBps here to the UK.

The 12 different Ocean Way® Drums and 15 Drum Masters 2 Signature Drum Kits are stereo mixes of kits that have mix control of the kick, snare, hats, toms and cymbals ..... That said, my question is if I use any of the kits on a song and later decide that the ride cymbals for example are not loud enough because of the keyboards, can I raise the volume of the cymbals ( not the Mic position, etc) without affecting the rest of the kit? From what I've read I believe I can but want confirmation on this.

These are kits, just sounds only.. right? There are no grooves and you need the bonus midi grooves to use? Will other Rex midi grooves work as well?

Thanks in advance Squids.
Yes, you have two options to adjust the cymbals after the fact. One is if it is sequenced and it calls up the patch again - no problem. But the other option - since there are separate outputs for cymbals is to track it to it's own audio track. Then you can STILL adjust the cymbals separately just like you would in a multitrack drum session (minus individual discrete mic control).

These are kit sounds only, correct. No rex involved in this group buy and midi from rex files will not work with these (not in any conventional or intentional way). But any other midi files such as GM or iMap midi file grooves from companies like Groove Monkee, Odd Grooves as well as our own that are coming will all work with these kits and have a lot of flexibility.

Squids is there a way to know for each OWD kit what instruments have been used?
I'm no Squid but I found this in the SOS review :

"there's no description whatsoever of the instruments that make up each of the 19 kits, or of how they might have been tuned and damped to create the final sound. Some might argue that this makes you more likely to choose suitable sounds with your ears rather than relying on preconceived notions of what specific drums sound like, an argument that has more than the usual weight here in the light of the mixing flexibility on offer within the Kontakt Player interface."

they also said this "Sounds like an instrument from one of the world's greatest sound engineers, working in one of the world's top studios. Because it is."
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr09/a ... ydrums.htm

Something I found helpfull though is on ocean wave website there are demo tracks of each kit with three mixes and the possible stylistic uses of each kit/mix...I'm sold 8)

All this talk about V-drums, and I am getting excited about doing the V-drum thing again myself. I'm gonna have it all set up by the time this GB is over.

I bought V-drums (with a TD-10 brain) about 10 years ago. Back then they didn't have the special hi-hat pad, but since this Group Buy has got me excited about playing them again, I am actually special ordering the hi-hat pad so that I can have a jolly old time playing the kit.

Just got back from the local music store and they have those brand new silver Roland pads for cymbals and a silver hi-hat. They look spectacular and are much cooler since they look close to being metal (but are rubber to the touch). Unfortunately those ones won't work with my TD-10, so to upgrade the brain and the pads would cost $1300+.

Don't worry minor issues like $1300. Just concentrate on collecting $99 to join the GB and everything will be fine. You have my word. ;)
