If Allen said it, then you can count on it. Allen is Scotty to Squids Captain Kirk.

Squids, "We need more extras Allen!"

Allen, "Squids, I'm already givin' her all she's worth!"

It may have to do with credit cards not clearing or people backing out. Squids lets you back out. We'll be okay. I fully expect to see 600! It's 558 right now.

Hey Squids, quick question:

If I understand correctly, if we already have EZ Player Pro, we can get something else instead...is that right? If so, how do we go about doing that?

Thanks!
Terry.

Your answer is here. It says:
Squids wrote:(3) You can also choose either EZ Player Pro or a Drum Masters MT kit (a multitrack version of one of the STm kits in this GB)
You will get to make your choice after the group buy closes.

I have some questions about velocity switching. How many samples are there per drum, generally speaking? And, is there any direct control over the velocity switching points in the Infinite Player? The reason I ask is that I bought into one of the ReTank group buys a while back in part because the included SampleTank L player had some I Map kits in it, and I was really interested in them. But, between the limited number of velocity layers and the way they were mapped, I found them to be completely unusable, even after extensive tweaking of velocity curves in both SampleTank and my midi controller (there seemed to only be two samples per drum, with a huge difference in volume between them, so that they were either to loud or to soft, and nothing in the middle). While this looks like a great buy, I don't want to take another chance unless I can be sure that I have more control over the velocity switching and sample volume than was possible in SampleTank (which I am otherwise very happy with).
And your answer is... that there is no definitive number of samples per drum. Some have more velocity layers than others, and some have more articulations than others, but an effort has been made to include enough samples for each kit piece to to create a realistic and fun-to-play kit.

I agree with you that early drum sets without enough variations were not extremely useful. But this product is THE FIRST eSoundz product to be released which has Round Robining and scripts to control the RR effect and drum kit behavior. Squidz has been raving about how much fun it is to play these kits and that we will be dropping our jaws, so I think you will find these drums to be much more useful and enjoyable than what you had before! :-)

This Mellotron used to be called the Smellotron because it used to belong to Bobby Sherman - singer from the 60s - and apparently someone used to store diapers in it...
LOL thats a funny story. Ive heard of keeping bills in your fiddle, but this out does that...

Well there are a lot of qualities one could consider when classifying something as Beatlesque. It could be the songwriting, it could be vocal or melody style, a clever arrangement, it could be the way the instruments are played, the kind of chord progressions used, the hard panning of the mix, the sound of the guitars, the tasteful layering or doubling of instruments to make them pop out, vintage tones, use of mellotrons, psychedelic textures, a surprise or hidden meaning in the lyric, the inclusion of a gag at the end of song, etc., etc.

There are all kinds of things that can be recognized as having been influenced by the Beatles if listen to a lot of Beatles and know that they helped to pioneer (along with George Martin and engineers such as Ken Scott) many aspects of modern recording and song/album production.

When I use the term Beatlesque I am usually just recognizing something in the piece that is connected to all that. The treatment of a mix can have a lot to do with it, even though the actual melody and arrangement may sound very little like the Beatles... although often the mixing and songwriting sentiments go hand in hand.

I just placed my order and can't wait to get the stuff. I know it can be played via Kontakt, but I'd still like to know if it can be used with SD3 so that I can post a more educated post at the Sonar forum.

STm is the name for the new enhanced Stereo kits...
Cool, thanks for the in-depth answer! I was having a bit of trouble understanding how this would work as far as multi-track layouts goes, and it's tough to find information when the thread is 100+ pages. But this helps a lot.

Still debating if I want to join or not...

As a fellow Beatles fan, I have to commend you on a really fine answer, Zedd. I'd also add Vox amps and small Ludwig drum kits played a certain, simple way with signature Ringo licks! Listen to any Jon Brion tune and anything he's done with with Aimee Mann, the Greys, Jellyfish, Neil Finn, etc. It's pure Beatley goodness, IMO.

BTW, I missed a ton of dialog everyone had about a bunch of bands and musicians I really enjoy. Do you guys sleep? (Yes, I already know that Squids doesn't.) And Squids, all your friend Mark gets is a first name??? Mark Hart not only played with Supertramp, but has and currently plays with Neil Finn and Crowded House. Neil Finn is a superb songwriter. (Neil was one of the songwriters my wife and I shared as a favorite when we met, so I suppose I have some extra appreciation for him for that.)
