One thing I envy Cubase of having is that nifty humanize function. I saw that Piz has some MIDI plugins, and saw that there is a MIDI delay effect. This got me thinking: Is there any MIDI humanizer plugins outthere?

Tobybear Humanisator (part of his free MidiBag bundle) is pretty good. I personally like the MIDI humanization in Reaper very much.

Reaper has a few really cool ones built in, albeit in JS format. They're tied to Reaper, but you didn't really mention what host you're using.

Well I use FL Studio myself. And I can't download the MIDI bag from tobybear.

De la Mancha's Erratic drum sampler has humanizing functions and you can pass your midi through it, if you don't want to use it as your sampler.. Don't have it myself though, but would enjoy those functions. Seems like a comprehensive sampler as well.

if there aren't any other solutions, 'strumee' does three channels of randomised delay (move your sequence forwards a bit).
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Doesn't FL Studio use grooves ? Someone told me it does.
I use Ableton live 8 and i use groove pool very often. Nice trick is that U can extract groove of a real drummer from a James Brown record and apply this groove to your electronic drums. That works good for acoustic drum replacement or layering acoustic with electronic as well.

yeah, even though I haven't used FL in some time, I seem to remember it having all kinds of cool midi variation stuff. Again though, I used so many hosts I honestly can't remember........

insert piz here is always a good address for midi stuff: midiProbability is nice
and midiSwing

xoxos is very good at all sorts of randomness "Strumee:Three modulated MIDI delays for strumming and humanising MIDI."

however, i'd recheck tobybears site. his humanizer is simple+good.

Actually, with reaplugs 2.0 you should be able to use JS effects in any VST host...

reajs vst is an excellent suggestion. reajs is slow for audio processing, but the midi scripts work with almost no cpu.
there is also a humanizer midi module for Usine (runs as vst)
