Lyrics arise from "Howl" by Allen Ginsberg.

This is brilliant.
For my tastes though; there's that ongoing thing of the loud parts seeming to cause the mix to 'break up.'
That could be your intended mixing style; so I'll just let that be; and continue to click on anything uploaded by the one known as Genetic_Junk.
Overall, your material is great.

The mix is supposed to sound distorted during the loud parts. Every track is distorted during those parts so it's not surprising the whole mix sounds distorted.

Absolutely a cool song! This appeals to my tastes and the writing is great. There is a however though. I was distracted not by the distortion (liked it) but by the fact I had to struggle to hear the drums. I am listening on my iPhone buds but don't experience this with similar tracks. Not to be picky, but I really seemed to be missing some element there. Again a great song, which at 6 min odd went by nicely.

Thanks for checking it out and commenting. You're correct the drums are quiet relative to the other instruments. I think the crash overpowers the snare and the kick. I may bounce another track with just those two elements to remedy the problem.Morgaxx wrote:Absolutely a cool song! This appeals to my tastes and the writing is great. There is a however though. It sounds good and: composed produced and smart. I like it very much
In these days of hard times, it's a pleasure to see someone like you having hard time producing such music
thank you

Very good. Thank you.
I think you're right about the crash.
Are you opposed on principle to tagging your files (and/or giving the files names that indicate who made them)?

The main reason for the lack of tags is that my car mp3 player has problems with mp3s that are tagged. I have no idea why this would be. It's more like a principle of consistent laziness. I could make two versions, but I've been lazy thus far so why not continue?

howl, has always been one of my favourite poems.
what you have done here, to be honest i was apprehensive, is take something great and made something different but still great.
totally unexpected composition wise, for the initial material, but the weirdness works.
i like it.
but then again i dont think you have ever disappointed on that front

Thanks vurt. I wonder what Allen would think about it. Truthfully, I finished the composition and began to write some lyrics but retreated to spoil someone else's work. I decided to victimize Ginsberg's poem.vurt wrote:howl, has always been one of my favourite poems.

I don't think I could ever match or truly compliment the lyrical power of "Howl" in music. The first few stanzas are especially great. But I don't think I did it any injustice either.
Thanks again for your thoughts.
