Wow, you are quicker than me !Ingonator wrote:The new Synthix v0.9.2 is out:

Thanks Ingo
From the 0.9.1, this version add 54 more factory presets (at least the promised 128 presets are there) and fixes a problem with the Arpeggio (in polyphonic mode)
Best regards
Xavier

Confirmed. 128 presets now and the crashes seem to be fixed.
I'm slowly geting familiar with the features of Synthix. Yesterday i made a Sync Lead sound (demo will follow later). Yesterday and today i made a Hypersaw like sound (check the progress on the last page), after finally learning how the layers in Synthix work (which seems to be close to the "Differential Unison Engine" in Dune BTW...).
Now based on this i also made a Hypersaw like Polysynth sound (Demo will follow later).
Lots of stuff to learn and i havn't even used PWM, the sequencer, ChaoX LFO and Rhythm LFO yet...
I have also recognized that the 4 sequencer tracks could be used as a source in the mod matrix. This opens some crazy and cool modulation possibilities.
With OSCs 1 + 2 in the mod matrix sources and destinations you could also do "Crossmodulation" (or basic "FM" if you like...).

Just purchased Synthix (iLok), problem: Patch "Lotuzia: KY Perc Organ B LtZ" takes 85% CPU! I have no other VST plugin that goes beyond 40%, so this is way over the top on my machine
Can someone please confirm if Synthix is that CPU hungry??? Some presets take 10%, some 85%, some even can't be played pressing one key, the CPU goes right off.

The Synthix can be demanding, but definitely not with this patch, and not with this kind of behaviour.
Hmmm I made this patch and on my system ( antique quadcore 9650 3ghz ) here are the results :
KY Perc Organ B LtZ
3 note chord : 8/10%
4 Notes chord : 18%
6 notes chord, and quick clusters alternate : 23%
SOo : Either you have an even more antique computer than mine. Either there's a CPU problem due to some parameters in your Global system (ie Computer, daw, etc), either there was a cpu thing introduced in the last Beta ( always possible but well .... ?,? cant see how it could happen due to the few problems fixed but who knows )
Can you please tell us more about your system ?
Thanks for reporting.

OK have tried it in Studio One v1.6.4.14644 (32bit), 4 notes are still over 100%, one note around 70%. If I remove Synthix, the CPU does still not go below 80%, it seems like its frozen in the host?
In comparison, PolyKBII takes around 20% on complex patches.
Complex Omnisphere patches also around 20% max.

First thanks to Ingo for the test
Ingo's benchmark seem right and on par with my old quadcore : A bit more hungry as the CPU is a bit weaker, but still totally usable.
Then the comparison you made with PolyKB is also a good clue on whats going on : Ime and tested on several computers the Synthix is exactly on par with the PolyKB II cpu wise. The internal code also guarantee this with the repartition of ressources.
So of all the above an investigation track is that the Synthix has a problem with your system Dalor, that the PolyKB dont have.
As you cahnge the host its "probably" not be host related ( but well this has to be confirmed )
With around 150 Synthix in production now this is ( afaik) the first time we're confronted to this particular cpu glutton problem.
I'll forward all this to Xavier and be assured that we'll look to solve this one asap.
Cheers,
LtZ

Thanks for your help. I hope it's something simple like a compiler setting and no 'major' issue. If you need more or tests to be done let me know.
