I never had trouble running the X2 version on 32 bit XP.
Maybe there is a problem with the usb slot you are using.

What happens when you try to run X2?

I do have several of them, got them with my xboard, but when I installed them and tried to load them, they simply didn't load in proteus vx, the process just stopped and never resumed.
If anyone has any specific instructions of how to run those libraries in Proteus VX in w7 64 bit environment, that'll be greatly appreciated!
I don't know what goes wrong here then. I used it soemtimes on a XP 32 Bit system without any problem.
I installed it again on Windows 7(64) and get allways the same error message:

To clarify:

The ESC libraries use Macrovision disc protection when loaded in ProteusVX, ProteusX v1 or 2, or EmulatorX v1 or 2. EmulatorX3 does not use this disc protection anymore and will simply load the ESC commercial libraries (it uses challenge-reponse). Windows 7 does not work with Macrovison disc protection, therefore if you are running any version of ProteusX or an earlier version of EmulatorX under Windows 7 you will not be able to load the commercial libraries.

Exactly,what he said..

Proteus X2 works in Win-7, that is, if it is 32 bit.
X2 does not, unfortunately, in Win-7 64th
Where it works against Proteus VX in both 32 and 64 version of Win-7.

well, the actual problem is, that when you buy software, you only license it - and if it has copy protection, you actually only license it for as long as the software company exists... this will happen to every software synth with copy protection eventually, even the NI stuff like Kontakt.... :(

I have bought all of my software synths, but at the moment, seeing what happened in the E-MU case (and alos Wizooverb - same problem), I really don't think I'll use that many software synths in the future.... (for, even if there is no copy protection, you'll eventually run into trouble after the second hardware and system migration)

Hardware synths may be expensive, but at least you can use them for 30 years :-) (well, except Neuron perhaps, LOL)
