The best thing should have been an init preset button... unless I have missed it.

I did a search on my C: drive and found it. Thanks guys.zvenx wrote:Hi Jon, yes I did realise this and actually did gave kudos for the ability to do this on my first post announcing the PC arrival.
But I was trying to help the user who couldn't find it in his plugin list.

Works fine on stand alone ( and sounds)
But the VST DLL hasn't installed.
Tried the install again and clicked the refresh buttons but still no DLL
for instance my vst as used by Nuendo supposed to be in Programs (32)\steinberg\vst
but it puts it in programs 32\vst so I had to move them over.

The way it should work is that it looks in various registry locations and folders to see where hosts have their VST folders, and adds them to the dropdown list for the VST folders selection.
However this is a bit of a moving target, some hosts seem to keep changing where they store that information.
Fight Apathy or don't.

Ok, try this: Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etcDoug B wrote: Ok, that may be-but what can I do-hurry up and just wait?![]()
I've been with this ISP for 10 years now and never had this problem with any other web site, including ones around the world in Australia, England, Europe, etc.
I really don't care who's to blame, I just want the problem fixed because it REALLY takes the excitement off of buying a new instrument. Not sure that I even want Imp2 now!
(I've use C for my system drive letter but yours can be differrent. Just use the drive where Windows is installed)
Then edit the file <hosts>. You can double-click it and if Windows ask you to choose a program then choose Notepad.
Create a new line a the end of the file and type this:
77.92.68.45 www.gforcesoftware.com
(This is: IP address <space> host)
Save the file. To be sure clear your IE cache and restart your computer. If this still doesn't work then you'll have to wait for your ISP to update their DNS or you can use an alternate DNS server like 8.8.8.8 (Google). Also if you want to try the demo ask the dev to send it to you via e-mail or pm me and I'll send it to you.
Hope this help, good luck.

Hmmm, did they forget to document this? It's been part of the impOSCar interface since the original version 1 release.bezza wrote:+ 1EvilDragon wrote: * It would be AWESOME if we could freehand draw the harmonics for user waves! Alt+Left CLick, hold them down, you can draw the curve
Shift+Alt+Left Click just cuts off the tops, so if you have a waveform with say every other harmonic active, you can just reduce their levels.

Well I did make the installer so you could put it anywhere you wanted in the first place!EvilDragon wrote:* If I move the VST .DLL, the standalone .EXE doesn't run anymore. Any way to point the .EXE to the new location of the .DLL? Thanks!
You can also use the installer to move it, and it will redirect the standalone automatically (if it doesn't, report it, it's wrong!)
But if you just want to do the manual version, look in the registry, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/ [wow6432Node/]/GForce/impOSCar2/VstDir
(the Wow6432Node is if you're on a 64 bit system)

Just click and hold.EvilDragon wrote:* Double-clicking the preset name display to get to the menu of other presets in the currently selected bank is kinda tedious. Would be cool to have it on single right-click, or add a button for extending the menu. Also, it would be great if we could switch the bank from here, too.
As for the bank stuff, well where in the tree would you want to start? It's something I have thought about, but as you can imagine had other priorities
I'm a little confused. The Sustain pedal holds all notes, that's what it is supposed to do, so if you release the last note played, it should be holding it, not going back to another note.* Now this is a big one for me. When in monophonic mode, and I play a legato line with retriggering back to previously held note (like a hammer-on, pull-off on a guitar), and have sustain pedal pressed, impOSCar "forgets" the previous note that is still being held, and doesn't retrigger back. This would be called "last note priority monophonic mode with key-off retrigger". Is it possible to change to this behavior? This makes it easy to play fast solos and still have seemingly perfect legato. Try it yourself: first play a C, then while holding C, tap the E key above it staccato, in mono mode without sustain pedal. This is the proper behavior. Now do the same thing, but press the sustain pedal. Doesn't behave the same... I wish it would, because that's how quite a lot of synths that I've tried (granted, mostly digital ones!) behave - and it wouldn't be bad if impOSCar had the same behavior. If possible!
Try sustenuto, that should just hold what is played before it is depressed.
But why do you need the sustain pedal depressed in that circumstance anyway? You're playing in mono so I would have thought that you can keep one note depressed whilst playing another?

I should also say that your installer displayed in VERY weird fonts on my system! Those are all fonts that I have in my Fonts folder, but something weird went on! Not sure how did that happen! Screenshots:

Perhaps that's why I didn't notice any options for standalone, I just clicked "Next"! The fonts seen here are Wingdings (of sorts), XXII Arabian One Night Stand and Die Nasty...
BTW, thanks for pointing out that there IS freehand drawing! I'm not sure how I missed it.

I'm thinking the middle, Patch window, is the most important for mouse scrolling.JonHodgson wrote:Just click and hold.EvilDragon wrote:* Double-clicking the preset name display to get to the menu of other presets in the currently selected bank is kinda tedious. That's how my Kurzweil and Korg behave when I hold sustain in mono mode! I kinda got used to it. And I need it to play long and fluid legato lines without retriggering, which is very often used in shredding solosJonHodgson wrote:I'm a little confused. Wow! I thought I'd picked a very standard font, certainly noone else has reported it.. then again, maybe they thought I did it on purpose!EvilDragon wrote:I should also say that your installer displayed in VERY weird fonts on my system! Have you perhaps done some sort of minimal font install for your audio machine to keep it as clean as possible?

So let's see if I understand this correctly.EvilDragon wrote:That's how my Kurzweil and Korg behave when I hold sustain in mono mode! I kinda got used to it. And I need it to play long and fluid legato lines without retriggering, which is very often used in shredding solos![]()
On your Kurzweil and Korg, when you depress the sustain pedal in mono mode it effectively acts like you'd depressed the sustenuto pedal after the last but one note played?
So if you played the line
C D E and released the E, you would get a D playing again?

Tried demo..after hearing some inital presets i was let down then i started second time...Wow...What a nice instrument. Absolutely amazing sounds. I love it for bass and pads. Can be super smooth or aggressive. It is just nice sounding. Very distinctive and right in it's own way. Filter is silky and super smooth. Wow..
Will demo further when i catch time. Seems like it is worth it.

Thanks for your help, but I'm not sure if i even want the product now!

I don't really understand why this happens at your machine. I had a problem at the very beginning yesterday but suddenly the site worked without doing anything (except waiting) and it still does.Doug B wrote:Thanks for your help. BUT ONLY IF instead of typing http://www.gforcesoftware.com in the URL line of the browser I use the IP address directly and type
http://77.92.68.45
If I follow JPRacer's instructions, and use the text URL then it works as expected, get the website if I put the correct IP address in the Hosts file, don't get it if I put the wrong one in there (I did that to make sure it was reading the hosts file and not using externsl DNS, which I know works for me)
I did seem to have to delete the cache, and then restart the browser, for it to read the updated hosts file
