11 hours to record in February 2010. The 2012 Edit/Remix/Master took about 13 hours, most of which was occupied in the search for suitable presets for the toppings. There was certainly no shortage of suitable candidates. Only one synth was used on here. Which band do you think influenced this?

Great tune! I love the vocoder/ formant sound. Synth1! :tu:

a really great track! :) since it reminds of the soundtrack from street hawk by tangerine dream, i go with td as an influence.
(i loved street hawk as a kid, i really should buy it on dvd... damn you making me buy stuff again!!! ;) )

Thanks Scott. Glad you liked it. I think Synth1 is probably my favourite softsynth. Some of the sounds it can make are terrifyingly good.

Hey astrochimp, glad you liked this one and thanks very much for listening. TD are certainly an influence on me. With this track the choice of sounds was definitely guided by them, but in terms of the its overall feel, I think that there is probably another band who had a greater effect. :)

This is great Tim! Lovely main progression... expertly embellished as always. I really thought the drum tracks stood out as well for being super effective in a very subtle way.

lovely shiny production and sounds. this has a great urgency to it that is tastefully done (i.e. not over the top in your face). what a wonderful way to wake from my afternoon nap :)

neil.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment, Matt. Glad you liked it. I kept the drums simple. They were all made from Synth1 patches, and a little dusting of dblue Glitch.

very nicely sequenced; it progressed in a consistently interesting way.

Very nice. The drums are my favorite - a little bit of 80's feel with a touch of early electronic music.
Gone synthing! :phones:

Cool mix of sounds, and I like the lightness of the drums. Enjoyed. Thank you.

Thanks for listening and commenting jopy. I had quite a few layers on here that were arranged in various permutations/combinations. The trick is in knowing when to stop adding parts. With Synth1, I haven't yet found CPU to be an issue, so there could always be room for temptation

Nice track - some good sounds there, and well put together.

That bass sound reminds me of Kraftwerk's 'We are the Robots' - is that the influence you were hinting at?

Hi seismic!
How did you tune that formant sound? synth1?
Music - is my life
