Considering the paucity (but high quality) of entries I am happy to keep this running until people start screaming at me to stop it :?:

you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Hi, Ian! Is there some resource to learn ow to make *gorgeous* GUI's, like bitplant's or Northernbeat's? I'm no synth assembler, but am a "digital artist" and would like to get started exploring the GUI side of SE! Oh, and please, extend the deadline of this, with time it may develop into a source of GUIs and synth bits! Cheers!

You could try the Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/syntheditskins or there is a small amount of info at the Krakli forum pages.. Also tary a search on the KvR forums.. there have been numerous "GUI" threads which contain pearls of wisdom.. :wink:

The 4x4 competition will be held open but to be honest it looks to be a bit of a dead duck :(

We can't afford to be serious...........................

Today I came across this thread and find that I now have three of the
four entries along with a version of Whistler that has 4 sliders but only 3 knobs.

I have no idea who is allowed to vote or how it should work, but I reckon it's
time to wrap the voting up. And then perhaps have a new 4x4 contest.

Be aware that this thread is nigh on 8 years old. And also platinumears_4x4 and Whistler as they were entered have no links to download them.
[EDIT; see posts below]

Regardless of these difficulties, which hopefully someone can resolve, my voting is as follows;

1/. platinumears_4x4 --- 4 points
2/. s8-4x4 --- 3 points
3/. 4x4 --- 2 points
4/. Whistler --- 1 point

Voting finishes at 12 noon Sunday 18th March, UK time. I suppose we need to make that in 2012 as well.

Hats off and many thanks to all who started and took part in this originally.

Dan Worrall/platinumears says it's ok to put a link up so here are three of the original entries.

PLUS a close relative (hopefully) of the original whistler entry;

just missing VitaminDs' skin source (which perhaps wins its category by default of being the only entry).

Anybody got the original Whistler entry ?.

Nice to see that old thing again! 8 years ago though... bloody hell, where did the time go? :?

8 years ? :lol:

don't think there should be a stop date on this:
it's a really good exercise/limitation, keep it running.
18th of March is too soon to do anything interesting for
anyone ticking over with other projects.
good to dig the thread up again.

Post

Gerrout on it, you've had eight years to get one in, so you will have to wait for the new contest.

As contralogic enter the contest and last year released all his gear for free, I think it's ok to add this file for the purpose of finishing this 4x4 Contest.
So I have added an early version of whistler to the post above dated;

Mon Mar 05, 2012 11:44 am.

The clock is ticking.

Voting finishes at 12 noon Sunday 18th March, 2012. UK time.

Post

boohoo, hadn't seen the thread.
so what prize are you giving out, bob?
:D

Post

The winner can choose pride or prestige. Or both.

Post

so, get a winner on this one, and do it again (or a
similarly restricted exercise)..or just establish a
category of VST instrument with this restriction.
(i'd love to have a go at something, but am juggling
time and headspace to the point of anxiety inducement,
hence my response. :shock: )
(inducement?induction?)
