i played with the demo late last year, but got caught up in other things.
just added diva today to my arsenal, and it's already taking center stage (zebra's in that space too).
great synth, easy to program, intuitive... and an impressive library of presets.
just raving...!

Thanks Urs. I'm very much looking forward to every update, as she's already a centerpiece of my studio. Diva is such an exceptional synth that she overshadows any v1.0 bugs we may encounter. Besides, with her advanced code I think it's reasonable to expect a bit more difficulty out of the gate.

is the difference in volume output between the different filter types intended?
i remember on first release they was pretty much all balanced and i enjoyed a lot switchin between one filter type and another to pick which one was best for a specific sound.
now every time i swicth filter ...i have to adjust volume between one and another every time.
for example in a self oscillator filter kick drum....the moog filter outputs a very quiet quiet one...then switch to the cascade or bite filters and the volume goes through the roof.
and also while on this...emulating the fade in of the self oscillation coming into cycle when switching between one filter type is it really necessary? makes comparison even more difficult.

The filters have identical volume for the fully open, no resonance case ("dry" signal level, kind of). The difference is the relative volume of self oscillation vs. the maximum level of the input gain clipper.

i am using the latest unofficial beta with multi-threading that seems to work great, but i would be happier using an official beta in the hope any presets created would not have any compatibility problems.
i bet you are fed up with hearing it, but do you plan to post the official 1.1 beta soon? (along with the change-log)

Yes, the status is still "soon"thermal wrote:i am using the latest unofficial beta with multi-threading that seems to work great, but i would be happier using an official beta in the hope any presets created would not have any compatibility problems.

Arksun raised some valid points about remaining possible issues with transients. Clemens is currently comparing those clicks and pops upon note start with their analogue counterparts.
Also, I'm working eagerly on Diva's product page. No update without the product page.
Howie has started to add tutorials to the user guide. That guide looks much better and comprehensive now.
On top of that, I've brought drag'n'drop preset organisation back to AU (sheesh, I totally forgot about that
But yes, we're mostly waiting for an OK on the transient side.

Hey all,
We're happy to announce that as of today, Diva officially bears the 1.1 version number.
She's now available for download/upgrade on her own, new product page:
http://www.u-he.com/diva
We'll send newsletters and press releases on Monday, as Friday is usually a bit too late in the week.
Enjoy,
Urs
Revision 674
Performance:
- Multi-threaded operation allows use of multi-core capabilities
- In many cases, Diva's filters are now a lot faster
Sound:
- White-noise DC-offset removed
- Panning inverted to make it correct
- Triggered notes sound more coherent
- Sonic improvements (more harmonics, less noise in VCF and synced oscillators)
- New feature "Transient Mode" can reset DC-blockers and filter states on attack
Usability:
- Completely new MIDI-learn mode
- Presets can be revealed in Finder (OSX) or opened in Explorer (Windows)
- drag & drop presets in Cocoa view (Mac)
- Better file error messages for windows
- log written if a file named Diva.log exists on the desktop
Bugfix:
- deadlocks that some experienced under Windows are gone
- no more unwanted legato mode after preset selection
- no more crashes after invalid file access
- All Notes Off releases current notes instead of killing them
- MIDI preset change no longer forgets modulator section
- Init preset is correct in the presence of MIDI Banks
- no more crashes after long silence

Still sticking on 657 after a fresh download and a re-boot of the DAW..Urs wrote:It's 674. Might be your browser cache, as we have replaced the download...?digitalboytn wrote:I downloaded v1.1 from the site, but it says Rev 657....

Thanks for your hard work guys. Appreciate the attention to development of this great synthesizer.
I'd like to report a funny little thing that is making me laugh more than cry because I keep thinking I may be going insane but now I can confirm it happening.
DIVA hates Env1 as mod source ;P No, but really, when I click to choose Env1 as mod source VoiceMap shows in the box instead! It is only happening when I choose Env1. If I should click a second time and choose Env1 again THEN Env1 appears in the source box. Vwery vwery strange. Got Win7HP here. Can anyone else confirm this? I just saw the official 1.1 announce so I will install and try the lastest revision to confirm again. I was having this problem for a while but I though it was me choosing the wrong source by accident because of my dyslexia ;PPP I now know I am the (partly) sane one here. Anyone else able to duplicate that? Gonna try the new version now. That was with all revs from 657 and back.
Edit: It seems to only be happening when I click to change source to Env1 within the modifiers area. ONLY when the box reads "none" to begin with.
Edit Edit: Oops, yes, still happening in rev 674 (1.1) - only in the modifiers area and only if the box says none
