I would like this!digitalboytn wrote:Sounds Like Tassman 5VitaminD wrote:It would be interesting if it is a new product that is essentially a performance mode reaktor.. a super modular synth where you can connect anything you want behind the gui and it thus modifies the gui as a result.
That is.. want 3 VCOs? add them. Throw in a Sub OSc.. no problem.. you can update it on the fly.
It could come with a few different layouts as preset and each of those with patches.
That or it's reaktor 6..

Urs / U-he has created some great plugins, no question.
But so did NI, and many other companies.
In fact, the attidude of some half-brained, childish fanboys in the kvr-kindergarten (and also other forums) is becoming a harassment.
There are many other very talented and hard working programmers in other companies (or on their own), and there is a world outside of Zebra and Diva. Is it necessary to treat other people with a "FU" attidude and accusing them of plagiarism just to feel as a member of a somehow illuminated sect? That's soooo cheap and dingy.
Come on, guys, at least try to grow up.

(No, I do not have connections to any developer, but some things just piss me off)

Yeah, hmmm... I hope it was clear that my remark was tongue in cheek. I have nothing but respect for NI and I have some very dear friends working there.
I applied for a job long before I had any finished plugin. I think I would have rejected myself

Wasn't it Vadim Zavalishin of Native Instruments who first {and freely} shared his research on zero delay feedback filters for the benefit of other developers ? what, about 5 or 6 years ago ?
Didn't Andy of Cytomic also contribute some knowledge/wisdom/methods to U-He so they could do the modelling for DIVA ?
Fanboys gotta be fanatic, but they should probably reel in some if not all of the "NI is copying U-He" subtext.
It's always seemed to me that the only real truly pioneering aspect of Diva's development was the willingness to bring our collective CPUs to their knees. As far as I can see, NI could have easily been the first if they had only decided the CPU cost on current machines {at the time} was worth it. I guess releasing such CPU guzzlers didn't fit in to their business model, and they've been fairly conservative {for the better} with the CPU usage on the synths they've put out - thus far.
Yes ? No ?

My post was never ever meant to critizize Urs; I hope it did not sound that way.
And thanks for the clearifying reply. It is probably not obvious to everyone, that in 2001 Urs was a young programmer with not much to add to job application for a DSP programmer; so it is a quaint anecdote, but not more.
But I simply feel extremly offended when pure "push button" - consumers with zero understanding show complete disrepect for work, that will forever be beyond their understanding.

you've been here five years, surely you'd be all worn out on that by now.GeorgK wrote:But I simply feel extremly offended when pure "push button" - consumers with zero understanding show complete disrepect for work, that will forever be beyond their understanding.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

since NI has collaborated with other developers/artists on other recent synths (think razor) a professional version of this:
http://co.native-instruments.com/index. ... chid=11930
might not be completely unlikely!? if so, it would be absolutely jaw-dropping

i do, some of them my friends, and have had some great times with them.GeorgK wrote:(No, I do not have connections to any developer, but some things just piss me off)
however, i also love ni stuff. eg reaktor probably gets used 10 times as often as zebra.
i still thought it was funny, not because of any disrespect towards ni, but just because Urs kind said "well f**k that! you dont want me, ill code my own bloody synth" and look at him now, not bad at all eh
i would have also found it as funny if it had been a rejection from camel or gmedia, who are also friends.
but thanks for caring
