This is a fantastic emulation. Better than I expected, and every bit as good as I hoped. Patrick did amazing work here.

Yeah, it's good, much closer to 101 (and subjectively also better sounding) than Lush-101 for me. Bought it after demoing about 2 mins
For example the resonance behaves much more realistically on the Tal synth, especially at full resonance.
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

I guess it was around 5-7 mins here, much too long i guess...penguinfromdeep wrote:Yeah, it's good, much closer to 101 (and subjectively also better sounding) than Lush-101 for me. Bought it after demoing about 2 mins![]()

Can't compare it to the original hardware, but this sounds very nice.
And thank god for the de-click attack/release button! The "clicky behaviour" of the envelope was driving me crazy until I noticed there was this button
LOVE the drag & drop midi export!

Just tried the demo. Sounds great. Arp is excellent. This is the 101 I always wanted in software.

Just searched for some resources of the real SH-101:
- manual:
ftp://ftp.roland.co.uk/productsupport/SH-101/
- audio demos of the factory sounds:
http://www.synthmania.com/sh-101.htm
The manual also includes the patch sheets of the factory sounds.
In Bassline-101 those seem to be included in the bank of David Goodwin
(aka "Kriminal").
I have checked the parameters of the "Trumpet" patch sheets with the corresponding preset in Bassline-101. Except for an additional vibrato the parameters seem to be copied 1:1 and it sounds VERY close to the audio demo.

Since you've made an amazing sound set for LuSH-101, I'd love to hear your opinion as a sound designer about what TAL BassLine-101 brings to the table vs. LuSH-101.Aiynzahev wrote:This is really, really good. Shame it's so simple. But it's got a great sound.
Really phat, like you can lay anything down and it technically works, it might not be the right sound for the song, but it's not because the synth is not pulling it off. Amazing. Getting some really classic sounds from this.
PS ... I also need you to get back to work and finish up the new sound set for U-he Zebra2. M'kay? Thanks

Haha, that was a good laugh, I'll chime in a little later definitely. Very interesting comparison.billcarroll wrote: PS ... I also need you to get back to work and finish up the new sound set for U-he Zebra2. M'kay? Thanks

love it .....but i'm upset the black vintage GUI is gone
anyway this light grey interface reminds mne a bit of the tr909....and as i intend in using it mainly as drumsynth (the 101 filter/envelope action is really awesome for drum/percussive sounds) i can live with it i suppose.

The user interface is pretty big, thus the black skin would have been OK as well. And it sure looked cooler

Didnt know he used them. I made those with one of the very first betas. Lots of changes since then, so i doubt they are still accurate. I used a real 101 to check when i made them. Still, good starting points for anyone who wants to make their own sounds and isnt familair with it.Ingonator wrote:Just searched for some resources of the real SH-101:

Love this one too..
Reviewed it for my blog.. Www. Blog.deckwrecka.com
It's simplicity is key to its greatness, think the sound and tone are spot on...
RRecommended for sure..
