Hello,
Is there a List of Audio and Midi Apps for Windows 7 and/or 8?
Apps that take advantage of a touch-screen.
If not lets compile one here.
Audio and Midi Apps for Windows 7 and/or 8 will give you much more flexibility allowing you to have multiple apps open simultaneously in routing between them. So I am considering Windows 7 and/or 8 touch sensitive monitor or the Surface Pro over the iPad. So as the list grows I will be more tempted to go with Windows now rather than in a year.
Please help

I will be using the Windows touch screen apps as an alternate midi keyboard controller and secondly as midi controller for VSTfx's and VSTi's. I may even use it to manipulate my DAW's if they are capable.
See my related thread iPad 4 VS Windows 7 or 8 multi-touch surface
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 67#5243667
My main concern is that I want to use Windows 7 and not Windows 8. Someone may have already made a Windows 8 touch screen adaptor for Windows 7. Have they? I wish the developers will make their apps requiring either Windows 7 or 8.
I found a couple of Windows applications that are compatible with touch surface monitors.
Usine - Touch Screen Edition http://www.sensomusic.com/usine/

enChord may be ported to Windows in late 2013? Just a guess on my part. http://www.avantgardesound.com/
Sonar X2
http://www.cakewalk.com/products/sonar/touch.aspx
FL studio 10.6 http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2012/ ... s-tablets/ Requires Window 7 and or 8?
Reason
Any more to add here?

I've used AudioMulch's Metasurface with an older (one-point) touch screen, and I have to say it's pretty amazing to use that way. I highly recommend trying it out.
The Metasurface ( http://vimeo.com/13800600 ) essentially lets you morph/transition/jump between snapshots/presets of your plugins (or AudioMulch's native contraptions). It works extremely well, and is a fantastic tool for live performance and composing (as the gestures you make in the Metasurface can be recorded to AudioMulch's automation/envelope lanes/tracks.

AudioMulch looks and sounds great. I wish they offered variations on the MetaSurface.
Requirements for AudioMulch:
Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7
(32 and 64 bit OS versions)
It is good to see that Windows 8 is not required to take advantage of the touch surface capabilities.

Give it a year. Windows 8 user base and touchscreen availability is rapidly growing. I suspect next year will be a drastic difference in touch enabled windows apps for music.Kalamata Kid wrote:That's all folks?![]()

Now, are you generalizing windows 8 apps or are we talking Metro only vs full version 8?

Wormhelmet,
I am looking at the full Windows 7 and or 8. The metro may be limited in features. It seems that the Windows touch screen apps work in Windows 7 and some in both 7 and 8. During the year the new apps may only work in Windows 8? But then again someone may make a Window 8 touch screen emulation for Windows 7.
What do you know about music and Metro?

I think that if this were about Metro, then it belongs in this forum, but Windows 7 and Windows 8 are not mobile OS's and they can run full software not limited to mobile platforms, so it doesn't belong here. You might as well be comparing windows 7 and 8 touch enabled apps to Mac OS touch enabled apps.
Metro is mobile specific, but there are no current mobile apps that I could see.
I think this should be moved to a better suited forum.
Not trying to be an ass or anything, but touch does not equal mobile and the platforms I see are iOS, Android, Palm, blackberry, Metro, Win 7 Mobile, Chrome that are the mobile platforms. Might be forgetting some.

Yes perhaps my post is in the wrong forum but in the early stages of touch screen apps these people in the Mobile Apps and Hardware forum have the most knowledge about such matters?
Oh Well. Looks like I will wait a year for the music apps for W8 meanwhile good chance I will get the iPad.

this helped me out:
Alternatively to access the app via windows 8 you can launch the search prompt using "Windows Key + F". Next select "Store" from search context options on the right. Type in Sampler in the search box, and it should show up.
thanks

Hey there,
I just found this thread and wanted to leave a short reply.
I am the developer of a new software called XotoPad that will be released this Friday (2013/07/19). XotoPad is intended for use with Windows 8 (classic desktop) and will turn your computer into a full blown MIDI touch controller
. It features four banks with four to 36 pads. Each pad can either trigger notes (even whole chords!) or work as an x/y-controller. Keyboard and mouse input are supported as well.
You can see a pre-release demo video here: http://feelyoursound.com
I hope you like it!
