Sorry I expressed it a little confusingly, I mean the MSEGs afaik are timing-based like 1/16 beat, what i would appreciate another time-based in seconds enelope.pdxindy wrote:You also have the 4 MSEG'sBang Ali wrote:Just one request:
Is it possible to add more than 4 envelopes?
E.g. if i try to create a FMO-based patch using already 4 envelopes for volume or fm-amount ont the FMOs it would be great to have one or to (non time-based) envelopes free for other modulation.
I know this would be pure luxury

MSEGs don't have to be tempo synced...

Hopefully it'll be updated for the most recent pony incarnation that's taken the internet by stormmikeyo wrote:I don't ask for a lot but i really hope that following Z3's release there'll be a 'My Little Zebracorn' skin hot on it's heels!

Sounds very cool. The 'module descriptions and signal flow' in particular, sort of a loose set of types for modules and parameters? Seems intriguing. Would this language interface with sample->wavetable tools?Urs wrote:Yep, such a model would be preferrable from our side as well.
We actually intend to come up with some sort of unified preset description language. In this, a preset contains not only the parameter settings but also the module descriptions and signal flow. This could be used to transfer presets from one synth to another, within the boundaries of the individual feature set.
(Might just be a fad but was at a web dev's birthday party a week ago, everyone liked JSON for object serialization)

This sounds *very* interesting. Would the idea of transferring presets be limited to u-he products or do you intend to publish the format and hope other developers adopt it?Urs wrote:Yep, such a model would be preferrable from our side as well.

I'm not going to open the box of pandora, but naturally we wouldn't stop anyone from transforming presets from highly popular synthesizers into this format. We might even consider doing this ourselves for abandoned synths.rockin1 wrote:This sounds *very* interesting. Will Zebra3 have a better/new GUI?

My guess is GUI will be completely overhauled.
But Z2 has a very good GUI as it is already.

From hours and days and months and years of experience... Zebra's GUI is the only one at which I can stare for hours and not get tired. All other synths (except maybe Synplant) induce eye fatigue over time. Love it, and I hope it doesn't get modernized too much.EvilDragon wrote:My guess is GUI will be completely overhauled.

But, as usual, opinions will differ wildly on this, so you'll never please everyone.

I find the default Zebra2 GUI a bit fatiguing... Unempty Dark Horse is much better imho...ariston wrote:From hours and days and months and years of experience...
