Not as classy as you may think, I already gave away my entire IK account some months ago, I actually don't want anything to do with this company, but it would be cool if Peter lived up to the promise of both licences so that i can put them towards the charity sale yes.
(Keep in mind here that there is plenty of time left in 2013, if this was other developers i would still be betting on them to get it done, in this case i am betting against)

...it would indeed be fun to run all my SampleTank libraries with Logic X and MainStage 3... Been waiting for months now ...

I dunno. IK has done some things I don't like, and they have also been very stand-up on others (and I owe them some grat for some cool things too!!!!!!)

I don't know if it's really worth getting too upset about. Nothing against either side.

I'd love to see ST3. It's a lot like bitwig (except bitwig has a an actual beta with info so there is some hope )

One thing that I do find difficult is that for all the promotions for ST, it's really kinda odd that it's not x64. Seems to me they could have at least made it x64 quite some time ago now (like their other plugs)

Anyways, I'm just yacking, back to the show.... :hihi:

not odd, everybody know why they dont did it. :hihi:

Of course they know, we explained it in a detail and honest set of answers here and posted it for our customers on our official forum here: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/forum/viewt ... =12&t=6909

I suspect nobody but IK knows why they have not done it, it would be beneficial to have done it as even a small paid upgrade to keep people happy, IK are not stupid, far from it, and these never ending threads go to show some of the bad blood towards their ST support.

It might be worth considering that when ST2 was coded that IK may have been a different company entirely, coders come and go and the original coder/team for ST may not even be at IK anymore (It may have even been outsourced)
There is a possibility that it simply had to be done from scratch, so guessing and assuming why they did or didn't do something is totally pointless.

The only issues i ever had with IK is not agreeing with some of their policies and over hyped presence
1 Paid transfers is a no go for me
2 Their limited number C/R system became a no go for me
3 Paid reactivation of downloads was a no go for me
4 Their inability to shut their collective online mouths until product was on the market was a no go for me

Yes it is annoying that a product that sold so many licences that it could have kept any smaller independent developer in business for many many years (If we are to believe the group buy figures, and there really is no reason not to) was left in no mans land for so long, but if it worked for you when you bought it, then you got what you paid for.

Everybody has a choice to not deal with any company.

Well anyways, it'll be ready when it's ready :hihi:

i dont want to give my money (anymore) to a dev whose skills are so limited that they cant even port their own vsti to x64.

seriously:

i'm not guessing. it's not so wrong to think that most of the customers (yeah, i know they listen to their customers) who purchased ST2 would be happy with x64 support and never consider buying ST3.

how the things are settled the customers dont have any choice (no free player finally) as to take the great upgrade plan which cost money again.

and what if you dont need the great new features of ST3? it's your problem. this
is so customer unfriendly like nothing.

nowdays its x64 and tomorrow something else: we live in times where the computer technology nearly explode.i dont want to pay twice for a standard when other devs give this out for free (do you think other devs dont need an income?) but they manage it and they dont charge you like IK do.

of course IK can do whatever they want but i find it funny to squeeze the last cent out of loyal customers (not only with this x64 thing, you named it: they take money for nearly everything) and really think they have a reputation has friendly "musicians first" dev.

Once again, read what I posted... It isn't that we can't (nice attempt to troll but we've been more than skilled for almost 17 years, but again - user with obvious beef takes cheap shot at company, film at 11... you're like a broken record). We explain in the link I posted. In fact we state that we could but the right decision was not to, and to go forward with SampleTank 3.

Plus, we've also stated (again and again, especially in response your cheap misplaced shots) that we've provided a majority of our flagship products in 64-bit formats free of charge. And - AGAIN - we've explained why this ONE product isn't going in that direction.

I get it, you don't like us and go out of your way to discredit us but at least try a little harder than petty little cheap shots that aren't even remotely accurate.

thats your answer? not even worth to tatter it. you managed to simply circuit around the valid points (like usual).

its your job and its o.k.

murnau, what part of "we could but decided not to, for the following reasons" didn't you understand? the only one who's "circuiting around" is you.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

murnau, you have a pm you ought to read.

Well, the new Sampletank will be 64 bit and play old libraries, but they won't be offering a free player at first, if ever. Why not? Because they want to force you to buy ST3.
