Noise is available on OSC:C Mode 'Noise'
Flexoid has 3 totally different types of MULTI-MODE oscillators

You can also use Filter B to modify/shape the noise seperately by switching Filter B On and setting Input 1 source to OSC:C and set the Input 1 Level.
You can apply any filter type and any modulators as normal

This puts the Filter in Dual Parallel configuration - dont forget to set a suitable Filter Mix or Modulation as required :tu:
Hello, thanks for helping everyone out with explaining these parts of the synth.

However, I keep trying to get OSC C to output noise, but to no avail.
I select "Noise" from the dropdown menu, but when I press a key on the keyboard, no sound comes out.
Usually synths will have a mixer section where you can control the volume levels of all the oscillators. This synth has a mixer, but I've tried messing with all the knobs and still can't get OSC C to work with the noise option. It outputs sound when I select "single" but when I select "noise", nothing.
Any help appreciated, thanks.
Hi, Sorry I forgot to mention that the MOD control for OSC C:Noise sets the Noise Level.
This is ideal for adding Initial Noise hits to sounds by controlling it with an Envelope etc. or you can apply external mods/lfo to pull in/out noise for wind/flutes/FX etc.

There is a mixer section 'Oscillator Mix' this mixes A->B Oscs first and then [AB]->C

Hm, still no song here? What's happening? Very curious about the sound of this synth... :)

Few more tips for Flexoid Sound Designers:

Adding 'Life' to sounds
------------------------------
If you have any spare MODs then assign Wheel, Ribbon, XPad or YPad etc. to different sections such as Filter cutoff, Slaved Osc Pitch (Really good), Osc Mix, or Pan etc

These don't affect your base preset sound in the default position but when you play a sequence and mess around with those controllers, you can breathe an amazing amount of 'life', movement and tonal changes adding much more interest to your rhythms, arp patterns etc.

AMP Envelope tip:
---------------------------
The Attack time of the AMP Env:4 is really fast (1ms) which can cause attack clicks and pops. To remove/reduce this, zoom the envelope and alter the Attack time to 2-5ms (0.002-0.005) or higher for BASS frequencies.
Same applies to fast Release times, just tweak it up a little to remove release clicks/pops.

@ Richard Semper: Some great sounds in your preset bank, loving the Kicks :tu:

Geez - these are really good! I especially appreciate the skill involved in being able to put together a patchbank like this after spending so much time wrestling with this synth to get some of the sounds I was looking for. Seriously - SO good.

My only gripe is that I'm going to be forced to rework my entry significantly to take advantage of these! :dog:

Yep I missed it. THX!
Don't know if it'll help much. As a beginner I'm totally confused by this *thing*.
Hope for a simple 4 Waveforms & ADSR synth next month again :-)

Tssh tssh ... wait for them ... :hihi: This beast is hard to program to get the right sounds ... (as demonstrated by my snippet I let you hear  ) Just kidding of course Z.

I expect a flood right on the deadline as the sound design is HARD and getting just the right sound for each track is quite a task :dog: ... thanks BJ for this one  ... do hope you will slot one in too

Relax  Remember we are talking about a synth whose sound sculpting possibilities are almost as deep as it's Parameter listing :hihi:

Hi again,

I am experiencing some really long load times using Flexoid in REAPER DAW. Has anyone seen similar? In short, the project has 15 or so instances and loads fine, however, accessing the GUI and loading/changing presets is now almost unworkable. Maybe up to a 30-40 second "hang" when changing or saving presets.

RAM usage is high but not over the top. System is REAPER (latest) 32-bit on Win 7 64-bit.

Any assistance or advice would be appreciated :help:

Post

Is Flexoid made with SynthEdit 1.0? This has had some issues when using multiple instances.
