ah yeah: synthedit, win32

here:
opinions welcome, want to nail it and move on
(no factory presets yet, just overwrote all the ones i had to tidy up
this draft - in progress..)

v.quick audio demo of one patch with it:

nb: it is 'savihosted' in the zip, so you can try it without littering
your plugins folder (thanks hermann seib!)

I tried it, it was pretty cool, I switched one osc to ramp and couldn't find out how to pitch it, and it sounded really cool. Good idea to start a thread on it, I try not to comment too much in the oldies thread.

I like the ms on the delay makes that sound as you adjust it, lol.

in SE, you can copy patches and keep going further and further,
depends on your host. i haven't tested the plugin much, just
a bit this morning. the chorus can fill things out a touch, or
not depending on what you want. i'v had some quite expressive
brass from it haha.

pitching is another thing that could be improvd: you have popup
menus for octave or semi, and fine tune knobs. then you can
toggle view to get more rad pitching shifting option:
tuner/pitchshift. not a module, but a prefab that gives quite
good control. eithr way you can whack th bejazuss out of the
pitch. xmod5+6, ignore.
1 is assign L/R mix, 2 is both to both sides - if you switch off
either channel it is replaced by the other/duplicated - 3 is
ringmod(you can swap channels any time) and 4 is ringmod
+ top channel(or switched), and 7 is xfading. i think i should
hav that as one shot xfade too, but for now...

oh yeah, click on the logo and there's an arp under there too.

Here is seven sounds in fxp format, just trying to replicate an M-1 of sorts.

Will the Arp have more features added at a later date ?
:tu: All is good

Post

thanks Drew! i'll load them up in SE

the arp is an evm prefab, the guts of a 'phrase arp', so
you can hold it and add notes. a bit unpredictable.. and
i found i had to offset note triggers whn drawing in the
key edit page. i cannot do up/down/order at this stage,
don't know how yet,- it isn't a readymad module, i guess
i could hav invert order maybe. or arp latch? tried and
faild on that so far. it i really just an add-on at this
stage?

realised i haven't yet done parameter names for automation,
too, so that is a chore for nxt session..

one of the mods is a bit quiet, needs more boost, it is hidden
atm. sort of working back to the original plugin LA part1, with
4 partials, get two working ok first. eh, there's a lot more in
those roland boxes than in an analogue synth! imagine making
this 8 part multitimbral... :( can be done, quite easy,
but i'm looking at the cpu here, and loading 2x8x32mb may not
be good..

Thanks for the explanation on the structure, makes more sense now. :tu: The Arp is pretty cool once you get into it too, good work

On my phone at the moment, but I'll check this out as soon as I'm neck at my computer.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

re-version up now with a few example presets, including the
ones Drew did for the first 7 - i sorted out the automation
parameters list, quite limited for this, i don't think it is what
it is about here. and not much else, will do a big tidy up session
on it..very lazy here, but shows a bit more of the kind of ambient
noises it is good for, wires and stuff. take no notice of the patch
names, mainly puns that popped into my little head.
collecting comments for the tidy up ;)

hey it's just a cheap piece of funky junk...

Nice set of sounds :)
fave patches that you have made - #11 soft time, #33 in space, #38 odd fade, #40 moments. Thanks also for including my patches :tu: I will make some more soon.

need to sort out velocity responses, and i think aftertouch
would b a good thing - if i can figure out assignment destinations
for it.

you noticd how pan is completely organic? it depends on how it
is modulating between channels. not easy to reproduce. can't issue
any rules for this thing, as you found out; you just try swapping
channels, stuff like that, and see what comes out. unfortunately
that sf2 has quite a few same patches.
dunnno if i can use 32mbGM.sf2...? didn't ask...but it's credited,
hope that's ok.

Just had a more in depth play around.
The level knobs in the amplitude ADSR don't seem to work, no matter what structure is used. Also sync is not working either (again no matter what structure is used) :(

signing in.

i'll check sync, it is a bit arbitrary as they are pcms, but maybe it
works when one is a synth wform? eg: 2nd one. i thought it was
making a difference before..
osc level is now on the x/y pad, with filtr cutoff. it seemed effective
ther, but meh i don't know about that thing..bit weird dragging it all
top right. good for mixing downwards, in volume and brightness though.
(whack volume up if in doubt)
oh, that was bull, what i said about fade in level. 'as you were..'

here, just saw this thing, gotta make one of these!

that's the roots of acid house, that is...mti auto orchestra for the phuture.
you haven't seen the other model, that really is, mate.

what you mean you"ve never been to one of those dances down in Spain?

right, here's my challenge to you :)

try to reproduce famous patches, like 'orient', 'soundtrack' and stuff like that
on this LA Partial thing.
