apple recently released figures which showed sales of ipads had severly gone down and they were no longer the top selling apple products.
Yes, that's what the slow sales show, market saturation.

The cycle of iPads is longer than phone and even computers, as they do what they do so well, it's probably more like 5 years+ before you feel your existing iPad is too slow to handle "current" software and need to think about getting a new one.

Even five years down the line, I will still be able to use my iPad Mini to read the net, read books, play music and video, play games, and all the other stuff - it won't stop being useful.

My immediate family is not tech savvy, and as I look around, between us we have five iPads.

The market has saturated, but the business is still extremely successful, but the low hanging fruit has been reached, so sales have slowed. It doesn't mean no-one wants iPads, or that there is no business there.

Once again, despite what the idiots have you believe, Apple isn't "doomed" or one sales-slump away from oblivion...
Yep, my iPad 1 still works a treat. Far far better than my 12 mth old iPhone in fact.

All that is just how one interprets those figures.

To me it proves Android is not going to die anytime soon.

Apple is concentrated more on the high end market.

Either iPhones are poorly built, or their users are rather clumsy.

I see some many broken screens, can't these phones handle a fall to the ground without cracking?

You are assuming its because of the screen ;)

It's actually the battery. And there's not much personally I could have done to screw that up.

Oh and for the record I have not once, ever, broken a phone screen.

Here's 30 "Sound Effect" patches for Alchemy. I think some of these were included in the User Library.

A couple use samples from Kriminal.........don't know if he's still got them up anywhere.

"Real Creepy" still spooks me out........ :scared:

Anyway hope somebody finds them useful and/or entertaining.......... :)

I don't feel like I'm clumsier than the average phone user, but iPhones... and probably phones in general, are purposelly built to feel and behave like bars of soap. My guess is to why you see more broken iPhone screens are that unlike most smartphones, iPhones are pretty beautiful. Apple uses really nice materials in their devices and their industrial design is bar none... in fact, you'll notice that most smartphones now basically look like iPhones, but they're all copies. So, because of their "fit and finish," people are often not willing to put on a decent case. Every now and then I take mine out of it's case and thing, "Holy crap this this is so thin and beautiful." Then, back in the case it goes. Never had a cracked screen yet.

...but I'm pretty pissed off about it. I dig what Apple's trying to do, on one hand. Look at that monolithic device on a billboard and it does impress. On the other hand, it's actually poor design from a user standpoint. You're really forced to put it in a case if you want it to last any length of time. That said, my wife and I have had iPhones since gen one. We upgrade every other model and the only one that ever failed was accedently put through an entire wash and dry cycle... (My wife left a caseless white iphone on a bed with white sheets :dog: ) and even then, after a few days in a bag of rice, the iPhone 4s actually worked though the screen backlight no longer worked. That's pretty damn impressive to me.

i know what you mean. i have had an ipad 3 inside tank-like protection (otterbox defender). it adds .5 kilo to the weight, and it's as bulky as f**k.

opened it up a little while back to clean and was stunned by the difference (even for a few generations back). was so tempted to leave it out, but...erm, no. that case has protected the tablet from a couple of really bad drops, and will likely continue to do the same :tu:
