Wow Me! (Synth Suggestions...Dune 2 Winner Prize Ready...Update 5/5)

Please understand from my original post that I'm looking for something with more unusual sounds and lots of modulation routings.

Of all the synths I use, the ones which fit this are Dune 2, Alchemy, Zebra & Largo. Also Iris in terms of unusual sounds but modulation is limited and it uses lots of CPU, but you can pull great Sounds out of any WAV and it's fun to do. Spectral is also in that list but it's a very (refreshingly) digital sound, and definitely stands out on it's own.

As for Largo, I wasn't thrilled with PPG 3.v but I guess I can give Largo a try if there is a demo. Is it 64 bit? That's another deal breaker.

Right now Spectral is in the lead.

** EDIT ** Just checked Largo. It's 32 bit so that's out.

There's this new synth just being released. It's very easy to desing sounds with. Especially with it's new Smart Load feature. And it's capable of quite complex stuff. It's of very high quality and it's affordable. Especially now during the intro offer

You didn't even try, did you? Of course it will run on a core i3, what are you thinking?

It runs on my five year old i3-discount-notebook, not better or worse than any other synth I have (can be compared e.g. to Massive in that regard - of course Dune 2 has 8 layers you can stack, so maybe there will be some limits if you go really wild with the patching). I bet even ANA uses more CPU.

Spire uses more CPU than Dune 2, with similar sounding patches btw.

There are synths on your list which are CPU heavier than Dune 2, but it "won't run"?

I go by what the manufacturer says are "minimum requirements." If you read the page is specifically says I5 or I7. I have neither.

Besides that, I don't need another EDM sounds synth.

Again I ask, do you all just have one or two synths? Some do but many don't. Your buying other synths has nothing to do with not being "pleased" with what you already own, correct?

I can easily run dune2 with my ancient core2 duo. Does a lot more than edm sounds. Actually Mr Heckmann from U-He said that if you have dune2, you won't be needing any other synth.

You've made some bizarre assumptions about synths that you've probably played with for 30 seconds. Dune II as one example, Xils (I could go on).

So when you stop making assumptions we will stop as well.

Well they do good synths, but their marketing seems to be rather bad. Those minimum requirements are obviously not correct, and the fact that you think it is "another EDM sounds synth" shows that maybe they concentrated too much on their monster unison thing when advertising.

I can tell you two synths which are really special and outstanding from my experience: Aalto and Kaivo. OK, the latter is not suitable for your machine, but I cannot understand why you dislike the GUI of the former. It's not that bad, and the synth is sth special.

But considering your list you won't find sth (really) new anyway, at least without a bit of self-deluding.
