I'm using the TAL Filter 2 pretty much, but only with Volume and Panning . The seletion is named Modulation Type, from this understanding I didn't use it with other parameters. Would you agree using with the frequency stuff is in the rules? In my opinion it is frequency modulation (like a flanger, too) and not allowed. Would be nice to have clearification about that. Would give me some more optionsz.prime wrote:...
EQ, delay, dynamics (compressor/limiter/transient/etc), all allowed - you would be hard pressed to get a decent mix without shaving off some low frequencies with EQ. Still, not dramatically altering the sound, just making things fit together better. Filters are glorified EQ, so also allowed.
... Modulate EQ if you need to...

Yeah, I made some really nice glitchy pads about a month ago when trying out Dexed. I was betting on Dexed for last month's challenge. Now I've forgotten all I learnedspidergod wrote: You can get some very idm style sounds playing with the algorithm section.

I think maybe it's time this thread was made a sticky and OSC 72 was taken down. Not that I'm too worried this thread is going to disappear into the void. LOL.

Anyone having trouble recalling presets with the LOAD/SAVE buttons? I did a few yesterday, but when I load them today, it goes back to some previous bank I was previewing. I'm on Live 9 OS X Yosemite.

You have to store the preset first and then save the bank after you've done that.bh9090 wrote:Anyone having trouble recalling presets with the LOAD/SAVE buttons? I did a few yesterday, but when I load them today, it goes back to some previous bank I was previewing. I'm on Live 9 OS X Yosemite.

Looks like modulation on that one is only for volume and panning, anyway. And if the filter is allowed, automating/modulating any parameters should be fine, even outside of what the effect GUI has. Still keeping in http://kunz.corrupt.ch/products/tal-filterMTLE wrote:TAL Filter 2 ... Modulation Type, from this understanding I didn't use it with other parameters. With the exception of the foundation (kick, snare, bass) I'm creating all my own sounds. I've done one pad so far and may do a couple more. I'm not really sure where I want to go with this yet. The only thing I do know is that I don't want it to sound like a typical FM piece. I had my fill of them in the 80s. So no DX7 Rhodes sounds. LOL.spidergod wrote:Has anyone found any really nice pads and drums? or anyone creating any?

Went through a couple banks to see if there were any good examples of drums but I didn't find any yet. Got an okay couple of patches for kick + hat/noise; will share in a few days if nothing else shows up.spidergod wrote:Has anyone found any really nice pads and drums? or anyone creating any?

I might just make a noise track and just load in various different files (pdfs, txt, exe) etc and see what sci-fi horror noise I can make.

Some of it sounds ok for a while and then a high pitched awful sound gets generated, if I can calm it down I might use it.z.prime wrote:LOL, what?
