Few days ago while looking for some synth sounds on YT i found this video:
And immediately i thought to myself "what a mighty strong saw wave ! i wonder what it would take to match it with my favorite VSTi".
So i imported the sound to REAPER and checked it on Dust Analyzer oscilloscope.
Hmm.. That doesn't even look like saws i know from other synths...
So some tweaking, overdrive, EQ on the VSTi side and this is the result:

On SPAN, green is VSTi, red JP80.
On Dust Analyzer sea blue is VSTi, pink JP80 (you can see that there is some noise here, i didn't try to match it with the VSTi because what i was interested in was saw shape only).
And the EQ curve on ElectriQ Posihfopit it took to get the shapes close enough for my purposes.
Here is how it sounds:

Panned hard left and right.
(matching it perfectly was not my objective, i just wanted to see what it would take to get it close)

So the question is: I assumed that for his experiment the author of that video would not use any effects on the 2 synths he wanted to compare. Was i wrong ? Is this really how saw wave looks and sounds on Jupiter 80 and MKS-80 ?
