Great idea! You can become a TV evangelist too. You even have the right name for it :)

You could also fulfill the universal childhood dream and become...(drumroll).... a CIRCUS CLOWN! :wheee:

Life is so full of possibilities. Don't despair. Music isn't everything.

The fact that you're clown and you have a dream to become clown doesn't make it universal.

I you hang out on the Electronic Music subforum at GearSlutz it seems to be more like Civil War re-enactment. You can't make techno UNLESS IT"S EXACTLY THE RIGHT GEAR!!! NOTHING ELSE WILL DO!!!
lol Well it's fun to see that usually KVR people are expecting/desire the exact opposite than GS people.

Both forums have their hardcore messiahs though, as well as nice people.

Love that Oberheim pad on one of those Japanese videos someone posted :) It sounds so vivid, full and easily powerful with that electrified rasping sound. Tried to do it in Sylenth, and while of course its sound character is quite different, one can get somewhat close. The simple 2-band eq does not help much because in my view the full body of the Oberheim sound requires much more detailed equalization. But I did notice a few things, for instance that too much stereo spread reduces the body and cohesion of the sound. Also, one should stick to the original architecture, i.e. only two oscillators/waves, instead of stacking several waves, which is a big temptation in Sylenth and similar synths. With only 2 waves and slight detuning the sizzling effect seems easiest to achieve.

I just came across this test today. I listened to the videos, and was able to guess which synth was which correctly. Not jerking m chain or nothing... but I had to listen real close to hear the difference!!!

I don't own Diva, but if I did, I would definitely consider buying this. Great job, analogsamples909!!!

Oh that was just SO funny and really really clever!
You are already rehearsing I see. Good :tu:

BTW: Isn't it a contradiction both to be a clown and have a dream to become one? But never mind, fortunately you do not need sense of logic
in that line of work. Best of luck.

Come to think about it, maybe he meant you're this kind of clown:

and your dream is to become this kind of clown:

I wouldn't mess with the second one, although it's hard not to appreciate first one's guitar skills.

Oh. Of course. Would love to be the last one. There is something...familiar...about him.

In that case I apologize.

If you can walk, talk and write but does not have a clue what music is you will never find out. Can I kindly recommend another career? How about being a gardener, a chimney sweep or a part time Santa Claus?
I'm always amazed at how obvious sarcasm isn't obvious to everyone.

You're so perceptive.

This will probably backfire horribly.

I own software because I like what it is, and I own hardware because of what it is and I think there is a difference. You'll hit me, but I think the biggest differences (still even after this test) are in analog synths, and in those the biggest differences seem to be where things get a bit overdriven, like in filter overdrive, or even analog distortion. If someone can show me a synth that sounds like a DSI using it's feedback, I'd love to hear about it. Monark sounds great, but it's very simple. I like the way things sound when they're breaking.
Any reference recording of what you're talking about, like the mentioned DSI feedback?
I don''t have anything handy but I believe it's gone over in this video:

It seems the video has just a little, but I think Monark's feedback is capable of pretty similar stuff (btw you have two different type choices there), especially if combined with filter resonance.
