I just bought Serum and so far I love it. But I been looking for information if there is a way to resize the GUI? I use FL12 and a laptop. If I put the laptop in the docking station and use my big screen it will be okay. Hope someone can shed some light regarding this. Thanks! :help:
I think the way to do this is:

For the plugin control, set bridged to on, and put in separate window (or whatever it's called) to on.

This is what I do for my laptop that runs QHD resolution.

It would be nice if there was a single option to do this for all of the plugins. That way we could set that option on/off when on laptop/monitor.

Serum just has the one size. LFO Tool recently went vector and is completely resizable though doesn't look remotely as nice as Serum or Cthulhu (recently reskinned by Lance Thackeray). Cthulhu however now has two sizes. It's technically possible to make vector GUI's look as nice as Serum, though not common, because unless your GUI framework has a way to import vector graphics such as SVGs from Illustrator, either the programmer needs to also be a visual artist, or the artist needs to also be a programmer.

For those long evolving wave table sounds Serum is awesome. One thing I would like to see is a pattern bank for the LFOs so you can use DAW automation to switch through the patterns.

sound very good man!
if you don't mind sharing some of these patchs for checking, if you don't want cause you use these in your music no problem i can understand that :)

Hey thanks! I'll see what i can do, and share the sounds. :tu:

Just made another quick industrial style demo track using only serum for the synthesizer sounds.

Everything was sequenced in Bitwig.

Thanks Ozone and Greg for your information. I appreciate the Quick reply because now I dont have to waste further time looking for an option to reduce the GUI size. I hope they will come up with a way to reduce the size in the future, same as for other plugins I have.

I am starting to create more and more sounds in Serum that are really usable.

Check this kind of Supersaw-with-strings-and-reverb sound made by layering 4 Serum patches I made.

Any way to import single cycle waveforms to use as LFO shapes ?

Not that I'm aware of. It does work the other way around though (i.e., drag an LFO shape to the wavetable editor.)

Post

If you are interested there is an extensive commercial library, very cheap, of shapes for LFO Tool which work in Serum. Check the Xfer LFO Tool forum.

Gor those who follow KVR more closely than Twitter for instance, there's now an FX version of Serum out as beta. Allows you to record its input as wavetable as well, pretty sweet!

Wow, cool! Thanks for ye olde heads-up!

Nice, I just wish they had a proper release version, or just stopped calling them beta's because the whole point of a beta process is basically lost by having every release a beta anyway.
