from what I understand that is a prototype, possibly non-functioning. so not shipping soon - but it is very real, and coming relatively soon.

more info from NAMM soon, I guess.

Nice.

Wonder what the other one will be then?

They need a mixer in the range.
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

Thye still make FM hardware synths? Nice. 6 operators is a lot for this tiny toy, but operation might be difficult for that reason.

Also, it looks ugly, I hope it's just bare prototype.

FM synths are supposed to be ugly. :P

Hardware synths must be eye-candy, that's the essence of them :D
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Yes it is.

(Unless of course by 'proper FM' you mean 'technically not actually FM at all' as per the phase-modulation of the DX7.)
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

There's a better picture of the spec sheet on Korg UK's Twitter.

It appears that it is compatible with DX-7 SysEx files. :)

Tats on hand to chat Volca FM
and it's working... not a non-functioning prototype after all.
