OK installed it, I like the way it enables you to make use of the fx chains in existing presets, I was wondering if it would have its own separate presets banks. On the other hand the macros need more thought as basically most of them are meaningless in the context of controlling the fx as they were setup with a synth in mind.
Also it would be great if each effect had its own subpatches.

Serum overall is VERY good at dirt. It's only clean if you don't dirty it and there's all kinds of opportunity to do that.
I previewed Serum when it was new and didn't grab it then, but I tried it again a couple nights ago and had to go for it.
Just listening to presets I think "meh" at 90% of them, mostly because of the genre they're aimed at. But when I am tweaking one of the good ones or building my own, I love this thing.

Ultra-clean comes into play when you decide to import WTF waveforms and want them to be playable and not noisy or aliasing.Numanoid wrote:"Ultra-Clean Oscillators" ?! Was ist den das ?![]()

IMO it's good choice to have perfectly clean saw when you can still import analog-sampled saws and manipulate them further.

It's easier to add dirt than to remove it.

Just spent the morning doing something I rarely do - listening to the Dubstep channel on Soma FM. Not a fan of the genre, but jeez, it's hard to argue against the idea that these guys have an *incredible* handle on abusing *super* crispy synth sounds and ultimately shaping them into something that sounds dirty as f%#ck.Numanoid wrote:"Ultra-Clean Oscillators" ?! I don't have the best of ears, but I think I can see how some people might want oscillators that are capable of generating the cleanest waves possible, and taking it from there.

Please get a better reverb, the current one is a real weakness in an otherwise fantastic synth.Buka wrote:Whats next for Serum featurewise?

IMHO current reverb is great for ambience.aMUSEd wrote:Please get a better reverb, the current one is a real weakness in an otherwise fantastic synth.Buka wrote:Whats next for Serum featurewise?
I don't need built-in reverb in a synth anyway
